Spiderman Web of Shadows Review-
The last couple of Spiderman games have been pretty stale with "Friend or Foe" and "Battle for New york" but Web of Shadows seemed to have everything in place for a fantastic spiderman game, With a great combat system, comic worthy storyline and a giant and dynamicly changing city.
The plot of Spiderman Web of shadows has Venom returning to new york and converting the populace of The City into a deadly symbiote army and its up to Spiderman to save the city and stop him. The game has multiple endings depending on which "Suit" you are alligned with.
Players can do actions that change their Spidermans Allignment from either Black suit(Evil) or Red Suit(Good), Red suit actions involve doing the heroic thing whilst doing Black suit things will make your Spiderman more evil.
Your Allignment also affects which allies you can call into battle to assist you, if you use the red suit you will have several marvel characters such as Wolverine and Moon knight available or alternatively you could use the black suit and call in supervillains like the Vulture and Rhino.
The game Features a dynamically changing city that becomes more complex as you go on, in the beginning of the first stage of the game the city will only have gang fights, then as you go on it will add drive by shootings snipers and eventually Kingpins mech army.
The game also features an Excellent combat system with deep and complex combos across three catagories
-Melee-standard combat against enemies on a flat surface.
-Wall-Combat moves against enmies on a wall.
-Air-moves against flying enemies.
There is over 50 different combos of varied difficulty that all rely on timing.
The game is not perfect however as on the PC version i experienced framerate drops and bugs and while the dialogue is good the voice acting for many of the characters is terrible.
Overall i would highly recommend Web of Shadows to any Spiderman or action game fan.
