I heard they are usually buggy, too easy, and nothing close to the original Spyro games. Are they any that are at least close to the greatness of the original Spyro games?

The best game after the originals was A New Beginning, and even that was mediocre crap. Nothing comes close to the first three.

Eternal Night on the GBA is the only one worth playing and it's a damned awesome game. Easily one of the most overlooked GBA games and I know plenty of people that consider it the best Spyro game. It's not the same game as the DS version, nor is it like any other release under the same name. Came out at $20 and you may be able to find it in the clearance bins for under $10 if you hunt enough.

Feel free to google for reviews if you like, or you can just read this.

None of the new games deserve to be called spyro.

Nope... don't think so. They seem to release a new lousy Spyro game each year now.

I haven't played any of the really recent Legend of Spyro games, but the ones before them were OK, they were just spyro games, nothing really interesting got added, but there wasn't anything particularly terrible about them either. They got really repetitive after a while though. My mum loved them though.
