Also, seeing as I play random on ladder can I pick my race for each matchup or do I have to register as specific race and stick with it? (In that case, I would play Terran).
" @EkajArmstro: You can play any race in any match and switch at any time. "For the semis and finals best of 3, what you think about making it loser can change, winner has to stay the same? I know that's the way they usually do it for fighting game tournaments.
Is there a system in place that prevents, say, Player A having a friend spectate in his game and inform him of his enemy's unit comp and position, etc.?
Of course if you can make a good case for it and/or people agree with you, I'd be happy to change the rules :)
We haven't really run into any of these kinds of problems in the past, so like harris said it's pretty much the honor system right now. Though realistically, we should have a live stream going as well so even if he's not spectating in the actual game, there's still a way to "spy". It's a potential problem for any decent size tournament, but in general I have enough blind faith in this community to think they're better than that.

@harris:
While it's true to get "good" at all three races, some people can get the basics down decently enough, and perhaps they're better at a certain match-up or they excel with a certain race on a certain map (ie - Zerg on Desert Oasis). I propose for the finals that we have something like players can change races with their opponent's consent. Whether or not the race switch will be allowed to losers only or both I don't mind too much, again, as long as the opposing party agrees. To be fair (and not to take the credit), I first saw this "enforced" in the TLO vs White-Ra Honor rematch show match series, where TLO switched between Zerg and Terran because White-Ra was okay with it, so the judges/admins allowed it.
Man, I'd love to join-in on this but I'm moving the weekend after, so I'll be packing-up all my stuffs among taking care of other things related to moving.
I may try to pop-in for some spectating though, as my computer will probably be one of the last things I pack/move... that's if I still have internet, which I'm not sure how/when I need to cancel that as well.
I'll try for the next one, if you guys have it. Good luck with the tourney regardless!

Ranked 1st in my Gold Division as Terran. Should be in Platinum soon, then Diamond perhaps. ^_^
" @wchigo: Maybe they go up to 4 digits once there are 999 registered "Dan"s? "that's not the way it works, there's no way we all are within the first 1000 players
That's not what he's saying, he's saying that if there's already a Dan#000 - Dan#999, any new Dan's need to have 4 digits after their name." @harris said:

Dan 1634

I suspect Harris is onto something, as dan would be a pretty common name. I can see more then 1000 people using it, even if they never step online.
I really wish they let me be Nephrahim 1 though. I guarantee there are no other Nephrahims online >_> It's a word I made up.

In the beginning, they basically made you choose two names, so you'd be Dan.nyboy And you could be the only one with that exact combination of names (IE, someone else could be dan.nyboythepipes) But in phase two they dropped it and just let you have any one name and threw a number behind it to make it clear you weren't the same dan.
