    i still don't get why everyone loves starcraft, when i play i just get frustrated at all the multitasking i'm supposed to be doing and how everyone is infinetely better than i ever will be.

    @Mikemcn: This has already been discussed, hasn't it? Blizzard is not coming to Steam... So don't expect a digital sale. Maybe swipe it up as an Amazon DOTD/Christmas special or something.

    @Mikemcn: What advantages? Blizzard offer the game for redownloading an unlimited number of times even if you bought the disc, you could even preload it by about a week. With their installbase, earnings and being financially linked to Activision chances of that service ever going away are slim to none. 
     
    Would you pay more for a game not on a disc?

    Having all my games in one place, having cloud support, being able to talk to my friends in other games easily, and most of all not spinning a god damn disc (My computer sounds like 747 taking off when it runs a disc.) 
     
    If i Get it on disc can I install it through battle.net and then not put the disc in?

    1.  All your games are stored on Battle.net, I own every Blizzard game from Starcraft to Diablo to Warcraft, and I can freely get them back anytime for both PC and Mac. 
    2.  All Battle.net 2.0 games support cloud, and all Battle.net games already supported cloud service way back in 2000. 
    3.  All Battle.net 2.0 games support cross game chat. 
    4.  Blizzard games don't need a disc while the game is playing.

    @Mikemcn: yeah you can, you can download the installer without even buying the game. Thats how I'm doing it, I still buy my games, download them (through a filesharing site mostly), crack open my box, enter cd and store it nicely on my shelf with my other games that I will always have when the whole internet runs out of IP addresses

    @Mikemcn: Well everyone just answered the question haha. Only thing to add is that you can add any game you want to Steam as well so you can shift-tab to chat with all your steam buddies while still getting all the other bonuses of Battle.Net.

    Just add it to steam as a non-steam game, and you get all those advantages (with the exception of steam-cloud support I guess, which you basically get anyway, only with Battle.net instead). Once it's installed it wont use the disk.
