This is in the third set of trials, as I try desperately to learn the game.
My only issue is that I can't seem to combine these correctly. I can pull off Ken's Target Combo (Med. Punch -> Heavy Punch) and I can do his Shoryuken (Forward, quartercircle forward + Punch), but I can't chain them. Sometimes I will do one, then the other immediately, but either the Target Combo knocks the opponent out of Shoryuken range, or the Shoryuken doesn't get treated as a combo to the Target Combo.
This is my first sincere effort at being good at a Street Fighter title, so I was just curious if there's something I am missing? Any suggestions would really be appreciated.

After nearly a decade in hiatus, Capcom's signature mainline fighting game series resurfaces with its fourth main installment, combining the traditional 2D gameplay with modern fully-3D graphics.
Target Combo -> Shoryuken?
I think when I did it, it was pure luck, to be honest. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong.
Occasionally when going from the Target Combo into the Shoryuken, I would accidentally Hadouken. Does this mean I am getting something wrong with the original Forward?
I have no idea.
@Mmmslash: That sucks. Let me know if i can help you out, we need more good Kens out there.
Ken: fp srk fadc ultra - 310 damage
Ryu: fp srk fadc ultra - 470 damage
I am not sure about the damage output on the combo you mentioned, but I know it is over 400....I wish Ken had that luxury. I hate you :(
How differently does Ryu play to Ken? For how much I play its a bit of a ridiculous question, but online people seem to play them similarly, and I never gave either the time of day really (though I've been thinking of picking up a couple of new characters and Ken came to mind).

"They are supposed to be played completely opposite in my opinion. Ken and Ryu seem to play the same because people play them the same way, and it doesn't work for Ken. Ken is all about closing the gap, Ryu is about opening the gap.
mp-fp xx srk, but if the srk is blocked, hit mp + mk during the second hit of the fierce srk, then quickly tap forward. Now you will be able to start another combo, throw, do a full screen ultra....what ever you decide is appropriate.
Something is wrong. We have a polite person comming in asking real questions about SFIV and people are giving really great genuinely usefull advice. There is so many things to love about the SFIV community ;D

"More often then not, I get a free throw after the focus cancel"Go fuck yourself with your tick throws and blocked fadc throws.
