Hey guys,
 
Last year I picked up Street Fighter IV, played it a bit, tried online, would be beaten pretty quickly.  After a month or two I traded it in for Tekken 6.  I really enjoyed Tekken 5 back on PS2.  However, I haven't played it very often, and it does not seem as user friendly as 5 did.  

So, I picked up Marvel Vs Capcom 2 a few months back on PSN and absolutely loved playing it with a few friends when they would come over here and there.  However, whenever playing online, I would be demolished in a matter of seconds.
 
I'm really enjoying MvC2 even though I'm absolutely awful.  Anyway, I've been reading up on Super Street Fighter IV and wondering if I should give SF another chance.  I know I'll be absolutely awful at the game.  However, it seems the Giant Bomb community is pretty strong with this game and that there are people willing to help out new players, such as myself.
 
Anyway, worth giving another try?  Or should I simply stay away since I didn't last long with SFIV.

If you have the money and want to play a fighting game, then go for it.

From what I can tell as someone who doesn't play fighting games very often, this seems to be the fighting game to get if you want to get into fighting games.

Dont get it if you dont like the following: 
 

• Long Hours
• Little Pay
• Poor Benefits 
• A constant hygiene problem
• You are offended easily
• And generally dont like to put up with other peoples bullshit

if you'll be patient with the fighting system of ssfiv and you don't mind losing many times at first, then you definitely have to get it.  i had the same problem with SFIV, at first when i started losing a lot online, i stopped coz i sucked badly playing the game even if did play the other street fighter games. but when i got back at it after a month and matched up with a couple of friends online, i grew to love the game and up to now, i'm still playing SFIV through SSFIV. 
 
get it and start collecting SSFIV friends here in giantbomb. don't play solely on the ranked matches, it's frustrating. playing with friends in endless lobbies is a lot more fun :)

The PS3 community will be happy to take you in. Online is usually bollocks if you just randomly join games. But we have a tight group that play endless mode every evening, so your experience will be alot better than your SF4 experience. Get Super. GET HYPE!!

Is the online community as helpful for that game as well when trying to learn how to get good at the game?
