Takeaki is Saki's father, Yuuji's uncle, and older brother of Yuuji's father Keijiro. Takeaki is mostly level-headed, but he may occasionally do something really strange. He is also physically strong and is comfortable at performing manual labor including shoveling snow. Takeaki fishes at night.
Takeaki's home used to be an inn but it was closed down during the previous summer due to the lack of customers. His wife passed away 10 years ago. His friend Kojima owns a coffee shop.
Sumiyoshi's mother Chikako revealed that Takeaki and his brother Keijiro used to be infamous as mischievous children.
