Got on for a game of Coldfront where we got wrecked.
I kept hoping that Norm would fire a rocket at me so I could show the guys the Pyro's airblast first-hand.
Team Fortress 2
Game » consists of 12 releases. Released Oct 10, 2007
The long-awaited sequel to the class-based first-person shooter Team Fortress Classic sports a unique cartoony visual style, more accessible gameplay, and a very large amount of updates and new features since its original release.
Thursday Night Throwdown 07/15: Team Fortress 2
The stream was a little uneven technology-wise, but they just moved into a new office and this was also their first PC stream, so I can cut them some slack.
Still think it's weird how Jeff thinks TF2 is inaccessible considering his fighting game nonsense, but whatevs.
Maybe now that they have their own server, they will play more! At least as soon as they figure out what "reserved slots" are!
" i also give up, don't know why they don't just kick out people who have been playing longer to let someone in. worst tnt ever. "They kicked people multiple times and the server crashed multiple times. The reason you didn't get in is because there were hundreds of other people also trying to get in. Don't be dense.
Here is the archived video stream for those who missed it or want to watch it again.

" I didn't get in, even though I tried for most of the time. I guess TF2 is a pretty popular game amongst GB members. "I did my duty, played once and then didn't try to join again because I know I would want people to do that for me so I could get a chance. I'm happy we now have a cool Giant bomb server to jump into with cool duders.
" That one one minute and forty seconds I got to play was okay. "Sorry about that. I shouldn't have scored the winning capture so fast. :(
You guys need to do some more of these in other countries, the only thing that stopped me from joining was the 500 ping. Damn Australia.
But there was so much disorganization. People rejoin, people know the password that wasn't really revealed while lots of others didn't, all the other shit." @GoreMerchant said:

" Yup, tried joining the server for about 2 hours before i eventually gave up and just started playing. They really should have given people a temporary ban after they played a round. "Exactly. I think the extra player cap would have been a good idea. 32 max for regular players while have like a couple of reserve slots.
I was lucky enough to get in and it was greatly enjoyable to see I, Tony Yayo (the most dynamic member of G-Unit), get shout outs.
Plus I blasted Norm right off the cliff like 2-3 times. So good.

With hundreds of people trying to get on the server, what do you guys think the probability of someone successfully rejoining the server was? Here's a hint: very small. The password was there to make sure the staff could play, and only the staff knew it. There's also no reason to kill the game balance just to squeeze extra people on the server.
The staff's goal was to play some TF2 with a random group of fans and have some fun for two hours, not to see how many humans they could possibly play with in that time period. A very small, random group of people got to play because of the massive volume of people wanting to play. The whining is both annoying and unecessary. But hey, it's tf2 so I guess it's par for the course.
Why wont the archived version work?
i think this justin tv thing sucks cause it wouldn't let me watch it live last night either
" @Marz said:Very cool. Wish I got in man ='[" i got in for 1 round, so i frapsed some of it, thought I'd share.Awesome! That was the one I was in . I even killed you with a shotgun and got urine thrown on my by Norm! I was going to record it too, but forgot because I was happy to get in. "
"
It's funny... but I have such loyalty to valve that every criticism from the giant bomb crew about this game I took personally and every compliment I felt a little bit of pride.
So do you think you guys will play TF2 in the future in general, or maybe even another TNT?
I am expecting at least 5 mins in the next podcast dedicated to discussion of TF2 :D
" @ThePhantomnaut said:True. I just thought it was weird for how the password was publically interpreted. I thought it was like a key for everyone but actually for the staff and used to lock anybody. First come first serve; very fast!" @august said:But there was so much disorganization.
