The long-awaited sequel to the class-based first-person shooter Team Fortress Classic sports a unique cartoony visual style, more accessible gameplay, and a very large amount of updates and new features since its original release.

(Pyromanina) A solid addition to the Team Fortress 2 family.

For years, loyal Team Fortress 2 fans pondered the day that Valve would finally release the last of the "Meet the..." video that would at last feature the Pyro. On June 24th, 2012, Valve began the 1st day of the three day celebration of the upcoming Pyromania Update, which featured new weapon/item sets for the Sniper (The Urban Professional Pack), Scout (The Public Enemy Pack), Soldier (The Dumpster Diver Pack), and Pyro (Pyromania Pack), a new gameplay mode (Special Delivery CTF), a new map (Doomsday), new achievements based around Pyromania, and the arrival of the long-awaited Meet the Pyro video.

On June 27th, 2012, the Pyromania Update went live on Steam, unleashing new weapons, items, and a fun (yet frustrating) mode for the new map Doomsday. While the new weapons, items, and achievements made for a great addition to Team Fortress 2, the one aspect of the new update that was disappointing was the Doomsday map, which featured the already-mentioned "Special Delivery CTF" mode. In this mode, both RED and BLU fought to secure control of a neutral briefcase (packed full of rare Austraulium), reach the rocket launchpad, make it to the top of the rocket, and deliver the Austraulium to the opening part of the rocket, allowing it to launch into the sky.

What made this mode frustrating was the fact that it became a messy spam-fest at the base of the rocket whenever teams tried to deliver the briefcase. All it took was several demomen or soldiers to constantly bombard the small area marked for delivery, thus making it very hard to accomplish the mission.

Other than the frustrating spam that seemed to plague Doomsday, the Pyromania Update can be considered a success for both Valve and Team Fortress 2, successfully delivering new weapons, items, and achievements to a game that seems to be getting better with age. Even the new "Meet the Pyro" video turned out to be pretty good.

Final Score: 4 out of 5 Stars (Great new weapons, items, and achievements added)
