Can it be considered a classic yet?

I've come back to this game so many time in the last six years. I started on PC and put in 100's and afraid to say maybe 1000's of hours. I played "unmodded" for a long time, afraid of "breaking the game". After someone talked me through the very simple Nexus setup I never played "vanilla" again.

I heard terrible things about the 360/PS3 ports so I stayed away and stuck with the PC version. Then I saw the current generation was getting Skyrim AND with mod support. I wanted to start my Skyrim adventure again but this time on console as this is my main platform of gaming these days.

Ok, enough about my history with Skyrim.

I'm playing the Xbox1 Special Edition modded like crazy. Divine Cities, graphical changes, Immersive Citizens and someone made a mod to unlock the frame rate in the constellation skill screen from 30 FPS to 60FPS. Small miracles.

I'm back in and back in deep. I've got three games going now. The gameplay is pretty much the same and as you'd want it. You've got your beloved bugs as you do with any Bethesda game, these bugs are much more charming than Fallout bugs. I've always liked the world of Elder Scrolls more than the apocalyptic world of Fallout. And I'm not much of a high fantasy type either...I think. I'll take cyberpunk (never steampunk) over swords and spells any day but I digress.

Having only played the PC version of the game there are many things I wish I could do differently and having never played the last generation console versions I can't compare it there so what's this review for you ask? I came to this games wiki and saw that the last review was from 2013 so here I am.

If you've never played Skyrim this review isn't for you, there are 59 other reviews that might do that for you. If you've played Skyrim on one of the several other platforms and are wondering why you should buy this game yet again, then this is for you.

Do you want to get back into Skyrim to murder all of the Dark Brotherhood or join their ranks as an assassin, lead the Companions to cure their gift/disease, help the Thieves Guild rebuild to their former glory, choose a side in the civil war by joining the Imperials or Stormcloaks, follow the path of the Dragonborn, hunt down vampires with the newly reformed Dawnguard at the aptly named Fort Dawnguard, attend the College at Winterhold and become a powerful mage, complete hundreds of side missions taking you all over Skyrim or just go from town to town as a rogue pickpocketing people while they sleep sound in their beds, rob them of their precious family heirlooms, sell the items back to them the next day at their shops, murder at will, evade the local authorities, buy your way out of jail just to go to the path of thievery and debauchery once again?

If these are the things you loved about Skyrim then you will love doing it all over again from a console and with mod support. If you've never played the game with mod support be ready to not go back to vanilla after you download and customize the game to your liking.

Be aware that once you use mods the achievements/trophies will be turned off for that game save file.

    Still a five star game.
