    An offer I can refuse

    What I loved

    • The family - I loved how you had a hierarchy of family members that you can equip, upgrade and so on... Their voice strings adds a lot when introduced to new missions and tasks. They respond well and I feel very much like a leader when ordering them around.
    • The business - To gradually take over the town isn't too hard, unfortunately, but it's still fun to take a couple of made men and head to a strip club and take over the racket and then setting up guards to protect it from counter attacks.
    • The pacing - It gave me a good 12 hours of play as I played around in the city with the different areas and it felt rewarding to gradually paint the neighborhoods red. I felt satisfied when finishing it.
    • The sound & Voice - It was good, I had no complaints there. It felt well placed within the world

    What I hated

    • The Graphics - Come on... seriously... the characters looked terribly bland and outdated... after Mass Effect I felt close to insulted to watch the sequences where Michael and Dominic engaged in dialogue.
    • The difficulty - It just wasn't challenging... The trip was fun but I never actually had to try new strategies.
    • The Big Dog - I know why Michael looks the way he does but Christ....
    • The Story - The story is a damn joke, don't play this if you're a Godfather lore junky. They took a lot of liberties in Godfather 1 but it was at least kept close to what was considered the main plot.

    Conclusion
This is far from a master piece, and I still found Godfather 1 to be more engaging as it was kept more true to the main plot... I loved the revised gameplay in Godfather 2 and the Don-system is sharp. Play this if you enjoy mafia games... Don't play this if you're a Godfather fan.

      You broke my heart... 0

The first Godfather game for last gen consoles definitely had enough unique mechanics to seperate it from the long list of GTA clones that plagued the PS2 and Xbox.  It certainly didn't hurt to have the license to one of the greatest movie franchises, but EA managed to make a game good enough to stand on its own merits.  With the Godfather 2, the differentiation was to be even greater and, on paper, it should have far surpassed its predecessor.  However, unpolished gameplay, graphics, and story ...

Awful adaption of a classic film; enjoyable enough as a game 0

As something with the official Don Corleone stamp of approval slapped on top of it, The Godfather 2 is such a horrible bastardisation that fans won’t know whether to laugh or cry at its thinly veiled attempt to keep itself true to the source material. It’s just a terrible mess. The story is all over the place, in no way in keeping with the plot of the films or of the book; most of the characters sound nothing like their movie counterparts; some of the major characters don’t even look the same ...
