So I completed the quest for Bolson by obtaining his requested 30 bundles of wood along with 3,000 rupies in order to secure the house in Hateno Village. Yay! I was so excited that I now had a cooking pot of my own, along with my own stable to board my horse(s)! However, the happiness changed to disappointment when I arrived on my steed/mare and unsuccessfully attempted to board it at my stable. Now I didn't spend a lot of time looking into this, but if someone knows what's going on, it would be greatly appreciated. If I just can't do it, it's no big deal, but it would be a little bit of a bummer to know that I have a stable that clearly fits two horses and is only there for show. Thanks in advance!

TLDR: I can't board my horse at my purchased Hateno Village home. Or can I? Am I just not doing something correctly?

I don't think you can, but I would also like clarification if anyone knows for sure. Would be helpful to know either way.

@capum15: Well, it looks like either no one knows or cares about this topic. I am finishing up at the office and will try to figure it out tonight. I will update this thread once I find out what the deal is.

I think the stable system is very forgiving (the scattered stables around Hyrule) and it's fast and easy to board and take out horses. So a practical reason for the house stable to work is hard to see, at least for me. But it would be cool for immersion/role playing reasons, having a horse (or three) to show off.

I only use the house for some unusual staffs and to grab a sledge every now and then, the placement of the house feels so off. Sure, a shrine is pretty close, but still.
