Appearances
The Legend of Zelda
Though she does not appear nor is mentioned in the game itself, Impa's first appearance in the Zelda franchise comes in the instruction manual for the original The Legend of Zelda. The text of the manual details how she asks Link to rescue Princess Zelda from Ganon.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
In The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Impa serves as Zelda's bodyguard. It is stated that she was for a time the leader of Kakariko Village, but she left this post prior to the start of the game to take up her post as Zelda's guardian.
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
In The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword, Impa again plays the role of Zelda's guardian and protector. She leads Zelda through her trials and eventually helps her remember who she really is, revealing her destiny.
Hyrule Warriors
In Hyrule Warriors, Impa is playable for the first time. A powerful warrior similar in appearance to her Skyward Sword incarnation, she joins in the battle to free Princess Zelda from Cia's clutches.
Breath of the Wild
In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Impa is an elderly woman. She delivers a message from Princess Zelda's message to Link in Kakariko Village.
