The first one I played was Zelda II: The Adventures of Link. Then I rented the first one because I thought it was so awesome - what I didn't realize was that the first game had the formula right. Zelda 2 isn't bad.. per say.. but the first one was just awesome.

I've played every Zelda since, with varying levels of enjoyment, though I had fun with them all. I think Skyward Sword may be the first I ever miss... or I may buy a Wii to play it (or play it on the Wii-U if I get one.) I don't know yet. There may just be plenty of games to justify a cheap Wii purchase at this point. Though I guess I'll need an actual TV. =/

I was born in 1995, and I can't remember when I started playing video games.

Though I probably played Oracle of Ages or something at a cousin's house, or maybe A Link to the Past on SNES, before either of the two I listed.

    Again, can't remember.

Link's Awakening --->  Oracle of Seasons ---> Oracle of Ages --->  Now working on Minish Cap.

I plan to complete each and every Zelda game known to man.   I'm a bit late, but I was raised on the PC and am only now making a conscious effort to play the console classics.  I'm admittedly a bit nervous about making the jump to 3D!

    A Link to the Past.

same here, i didn't even have a SNES at the time, i kept swapping my buddy for my mega drive so i could play both Zelda and secret of mana which i bought off another friend on the basis my first friend would loan out his SNES. his mum kept making him get it back from me and it took me forever to finish but evetually my mum and dad relented and bought me one of my own and i got it done.

    Link to the Past.

Had a game going at my sister's orthodontist. Everytime we'd go my other sister and I would go up and play on their SNES. Never got to finish it though I played the hell outta it.

Ocarina of Time. I have to say though, I still battle in my head whether it or Wind Waker is my favorite one.

I first played A Link to the Past at my cousin's house when I was 4 or 5 and loved it.  I bought Ocarina of Time myself a year or two later after renting it several times.  Sadly I have never finished a Zelda game, I always feel burnt out at the end.

Link to the Past. It took me around a year to beat because I was about 5 years old. 5 when I finished it I mean. Then I played it and beat it again right after finishing it. I credit that game with helping me learn to read.

I played A Link to the Past but I was too young and not competent enough to complete it. However, my first Zelda completion was Wind Waker on the Gamecube and since then i've finished Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks. I've never played Ocarina of Time but I remember watching my older brother play it all the time. Of all these, Wind Waker was definitely my favourite.

The first Zelda game I played was the first one I believe. The first one I ever finished was Link to the Past.

Mine WAS Ocarina of time, a long time ago. I was too young to get all the puzzles and such so I discarded it quickly (I think that was back when I rented). I recently picked up the Phantom Hourglass and has hooked me on the Zelda series so I'd rather use that game as my first rather than OOT.
