Rainbow Six Siege is a competitive multiplayer first-person shooter developed by Ubisoft Montreal. Players chose from a large roster of Operators with their own weapons and abilities to win round-based attack and defend matches.
I didn't know about it. Already have the game. But it looks like its a $15 version of the full game. The difference is that it takes WAY more grinding to unlock characters. It comes with 4 random starter characters. But characters cost from 15,000 to like 25,000 renown to unlock instead of 500 - 2000. Which is rough!
I don't really understand the motivation for this "Starter Edition." I suppose it would be like a demo for people who don't have a lot of money? But a demo that's $15 kinda sucks. I'd like to hear from the person who this is intended for.
@haxdax: A multiplayer game lives and dies by its active player base. Many people don't believe a multiplayer-only game is worth paying full price for. Ubisoft is attempting to tap that audience to help restore its (presumably) waning community. Makes sense to me.
