I really like War for Cybertron, so this is good news!

SO goddamn happy about this. While War was kinda clunky gameplay-wise, it wasn't totally unenjoyable. Plus the writing was excellent and a very good mature (relative terms) story that we all wish Transformers should have. To hear that it's even darker makes me very excited.

@huser: The "animal thing" is totally justified by the story and such. Beast Wars is superior to Transformers in every freakin' way. The animation after season 1 totally holds up nowadays.

not sure why people are going on about beast wars Grimlock was a G1 character and wasn't the only animal form transformer the decepticons had the insects and later on in the comics there are ones like the Predacons.

Grimlock was fucking awesome. He was a dinosaur. He was a robot. He could Transform. Instantly the best toy in the world.

I always found it odd that the dinobots just sort on chilled in their "transformed/dinosaur" state most of the time. It was like if the autobots were cars all the time.

Uh yeah, Transformers have souls.  It's called a Spark, became canon in the fiction back in the early 90s with Beast Wars.    It's basically a glowing sphere of atoms and energy located in their torso's that stores the essence of what they are.

You mis-read the post, Alex is saying how people should stop getting so serious over dinobots... because they're so stupid, and so awesome. (I thought it was fairly obvious in the post itself, but apparently not)

I liked the first game, so I am glad they are making a second one!

Also G1 is still a good show, just in an unintentionally hilarious way nowadays. Beast Wars, however, is legitimately quality, despite it's CGI aging very poorly.
