Turbine is a symmetrical CTF map set inside a large industrial compound.

Turbine is clean, straightforward, and symmetrical, making it easy to learn. Its well balanced layout ensures that there are a wide variety of strategic choices for teams to make, and its variety of arenas allow individual classes to shine, but no one class to dominate. Competitive teams and players have already popularized this one. It was designed by Bill Johnston using the "spytech" subset of the tf2 art style, and released as a custom map. It was later acquired by Valve Corporation to release as an official map, though Valve made no changes to the map layout or design. Turbine was part of the first round of user created official maps and released alongside another custom map called Fastlane with the Team Fortress 2 Pyro update.

Turbine is among the top 10 most played Team Fortress 2 maps, measured by hours played according to Valve's Team Fortress 2 stats page. The only other user-created map in the top 10 is Hoodoo.
