Ulimat iX was the last traditional single-player RPG game in the Ultima series. Widely considered a failure, the game launched riddled with technical difficulties and is often considered the worst game in the series.
Ultima IX: Ascension is the final game in the Ultima series, following The Avatar, a champion and embodyment of the 8 virtues. It sees The Avatar return to Britannia, to find it's 8 towns, each of which embodies one of the virues, corrupted by the appearance of giant columns.The Avatar must travel to the center of each column in order to find the sigil that is responsible for the corruption. Within each column is a series of challenges and puzzles that must be solved to progress.
