Just wondering how much life is in the single player for Uncharted 2. Nobody I know has a PS3 so I'll never really try the MP.
Thanks in advance,
JTB.
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
Game » consists of 14 releases. Released Oct 13, 2009
Nathan Drake returns to find the lost secret of Marco Polo, in this sequel to the 2007 sleeper hit Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.
Is this worth it if I'll only play the single player?
I played it through 5 times. Now some might call me crazy but damn that game is good.
In terms of useful info, it'll take you about 12 hours to finish and you'll probably want to play it through at least twice to collect all the treasures. Also the MP is really really good so it can't hurt for you to just jump in and play it a bit.
Yeah, I believe I've done four playthroughs. It's a really well made game!
I've played 2-3 hours of multiplayer overall, due to the internet connection in my room being terrible, but it was completely worth the price just for the single player.
I found the game to be a little shallow at times, the gameplay for me didn't hold up in between set-pieces. I would definitely try to experience the game because the characters are great and it has some amazing moments. But just don't expect the gameplay between those moments to be anything special. The game is also a graphical marvel, so that helps. I would rent if I were you and If you thought you were going to play through multiple times then go buy a copy.
Absolutely. Past the beta, I didn't play a minute of the multiplayer but the single-player alone is worth the price.
This is a weird, weird question. I thought the primary reason to own this game WAS the single player. The multiplayer is good but I have no idea how alive it is now. The single player has a bunch of collectibles, trophies and stuff if youre into that kind of thing.
Uncharted 2 is one of my favourite singleplayer experiences to date, pick it up it's probably fairly cheap now too.
Definitely worth it, I bought the game when it came out and I only played MP for a week or so. However the campaign is just fantastic, but I will say it only took me 6 and a half hours on normal not sure how people got 10+ hours out of it unless they were playing on hard..as it took me around 9 or 10 when I replayed on hard. Eventually I hope to play through it on crushing and do some trophy hunting but I'm a little busy with other stuff.
Even if your not into replaying games, Uncharted 2 is a no-brainer...one of the best single player experiences I've played.
Single Player is great and probably the reason why so many people have bought it but you atleast try MP it's pretty awesome.
I played through it 4 times and sunk over 100 hours into the multiplayer. I don't know why you wouldn't want to play the multiplayer. Try Elimination games. It's what I played when waiting for my friends to get online. It's the mode that requires the most individual skill and least amount of teamwork. It's also great because it's got super quick rounds.
It's probably going to win Game of the Year 2010 so it would be imperative that you play it. The single-player story is absolutely brilliant so don't hesitate to just buy it, or rent it or what have you even if it only lasts you 8 hours.

Game should last a while If you play through both difficulty modes (don't need to play normal to unlock hard like UC1), collecting all the trophies and treasures, there are quite a few unlockables like fast motion mode/mirror mode that affect the gameplay a little, there are costumes and such, so they add a bit of replay value. I played through it twice and then another run with fast motion turned on just for the hell of it.
