Don't know if you've ever played a Blizzard RTS, but they are good. I don't really care for the RTS genre either, but these games are different. Very good games. I know it's hard to believe that they are different.

Seems like they went to alot of trouble for 2 games, not enough incentive to make an account yet. Maybe once it hits 3 games with Diablo 3.

That's right boys. Giving people cool things is always bad, ESPECIALLY when it doesn't get in the way of the enjoyment of others who choose not to use it.
Also consolized? I assume you mean this is some reaction to consoles having Facebook? Or just because you think this is console-esque? Maybe dumbed down? Oh right, I forgot, people with computers don't use facebook, silly me. Cause it couldn't be that it's just telling you who on your facebook plays SC and allowing you to add them with ease, and there is no way people have wanted these kinds of things on just about any console everywhere. There is a reason STEAM is so popular mate. Because it gives PC users that central, social connection, without getting in the way of the GAMES.

I'm curious if anyone can tell me if WoW is going to be updated in a significant way to allow this sort of cross game interaction, or if it's pretty much going to work as is. But this looks great. This stuff seemed really neat in the BETA, and I really like that they are working to unite their games under one banner. Being able to talk to people cross game in games like WoW and SC and Diablo will be great. Even if I'll prolly end up using skype =p

For 12 million people one of those games is pretty important. Oh and I hear the other game does OK as well.

lol. Just because Battle.net 2.0 is kind of dumb, doesn't make SCII bad, it just means some of the software surrounding the game is mediocre and needs some updates, but the game you will be playing will be great and you'll be able to play online with your friends, so who cares.

It was 11.5 million 2 years ago, before WoW China shutdown and they lost several million, but I get your point. Still seems weird to make a social platform for 2 games, especially when the 2 games are totally different genres.

Would of made more sense for Steam, but Activision would never team up with Valve.

Yeah, with the exception of Starcraft 2 and a few titles from GOG, I buy all my PC games from Steam. Vavle have had enough time to figure out large scale game launches (remember HL2 escapade) so everthing runs smoothly. I think its more Blizzard that wants the whole BattleNet thing, most Activision games come to Steam just usually a few weeks after launch. I suppose they want to net as many WOW players as possible and having one less hurdle for them to jump before buying the game is probably a good business decision.

Honestly, I loved the original StarCraft, and I want to play this, but fuck Activision-Blizzard. The game is certainly playable and fun, but it just looks more and more like they're trying to see what they can get away with. Taking away features slowly, pushing up the prices and hiding it under a facade of pretty graphics.

I think Blizzard makes great games, but I have very little faith in how the joint company is directing itself. I hate to be "that guy," but I'll take SC1 and the original b.net over this any day.

I wouldn't call him a fanboy, there's been no evidence thus far to suggest that Activision has any bearing on what Blizzard does. WoW is still going strong, Diablo III is looking great, and I've been playing Starcraft II for the past few hours (hint: it's really good).

I am already playing it too and it's awesome.

Of course it's not ideal that they have their own achievement system, online and etc, but what can we do? I want to play anyway.

At least you can see the amount of effort that went into the making of this game, it's extremely polished (despite the version 1.0 bugs that I encountered).
