I totally thought we were about to be able to play as Ben Franklin in the game. That really bums me out that's not the case.

Has anyone played this yet? The first part was god awful apart from the cool evil Washington cutscenes. I don't plan on buying any more of these things unless I know it's less shit.

Really. A native American character that turns into spirit animals. How original. Then again, when the defining characteristic of the third protagonist in the series is his ethnicity, you really can't ask for much.

Ok, new rule: Only Americans are allowed to make batshit crazy stuff about American history. Everyone else clearly sucks at it, and this is possibly the most boring looking alternate history I've ever seen.

I don't even understand what it's supposed to do. Is it some sort of double jump or glide mechanic? Do you just fly around the level like a non-parkouring dumbass, thus negating half the gameplay this series is based on? It's like they took every idea they had for this DLC and implemented it in the worst way possible.

This looks so dumb. It's hilarious. And kind of depressing.

Some people here need to lighten up. This whole DLC is just a crazy "what if" scenario. The past AC games have stayed fairly true to the actual historical timeline so it's nice to see them just all out crazy with this little side-story.

This is kind of a spoiler but in part 1 Connor comments on how "this isn't what happened." Ubisoft pretty clearly set this up as some crazy fever dream so there's no reason to get all up in arms about this DLC.

Some AC3 haters are trying too hard. This DLC is supposed to be ridiculous. In the first part of the DLC, Connor admits that nothing makes sense, since he remembers the events of AC3, but suddenly all this crazy stuff is happening, like his mom suddenly being alive again and all of his patriot "friends" being evil. It's essentially a nonsense nightmare scenario for him, and he acknowledges it.

The developers have admitted that this DLC lets them go crazy with concepts. This allows them to use stuff like the animal powers to change up and ease the gameplay without having to worry about breaking "realism" further. The wolf power from the first part, for example, made stealth more fun.

The only crappy part about this DLC is that it's separated into three different parts. Oh, and the DLC is still super glitchy like the main game. That's also very unfortunate.

I love the idea of a stupid and ridiculous story as DLC. It doesn't mean much to the story proper, so who cares how terrible this is... If you want more AC3 who are we to tell players not to pay for this and play it.

I played part 1 the other night and the wolf powers were actually pretty cool. It's a shame the DLC is buggy as shit, it's like they used an earlier build for it or something.

I'm enjoying the DLC more than I enjoyed the main game. I didn't like it as much as brotherhood, but it wasn't nearly as bad as all these band-wagoners say it is.

I've noticed, If someone on the bombcast crew says something even slightly negative towards anything, everyone will just automatically pile on. I guess most people need someone to tell them what to think, but come on...

Also, it's not out yet, so no.

Looks great. I'm enjoying the cynical non-sense most readers are posting as well. I'm pretty sure this kind of content is exactly what people want in their game, but when it finally becomes a reality no one wants to admit it entertains them.

Oh well. Time to finally buy ACIII and beat it so I can partake in this DLC.

Ben Franklin doing anything athletic may be more mind boggling to me than transforming into an eagle.

If you like the mission design in AC 3 then you will like this DLC. I don't and this DLC is more of that but with a broken special ability which feels like it's there to just let you fast track the poor gameplay.

@spicyrichter: I didn't check the date, just figured this was a "launch trailer" esque thing.

Just finished this DLC. It was pretty cool. I didn't bother doing much exploring and just stuck to the story missions for fear of bugging out my weapons like with the last DLC. It's just as buggy as anything else AC3.

The animal spirit journey in this one is way less annoying than the wolf one. The eagle power is pretty nifty, letting you pretty much teleport anywhere in the environment. Sure, it trivializes the traversal mechanics, but that's kind of the point of these animal powers. I can see this being fun to use in the frontier, but I think they may restrict you to just playing in Boston, which is kind of a bummer.

There's a pretty funny scene with Connor playing checkers in a tavern. Let's just say they take the term "rage quit" quite literally.

It would be really cool, if after this story is finished, they let you take the animal powers into the main game. But having to deal with the crappy weapon switching system would make it less fun.

Where AC3 left me feeling sour (not to mention part one of this DLC series) This new part has fun enough gameplay to keep me interested. That eagle power is kinda cool and is acquired almost immediately, unlike the Wolf power.
