Be The Hero Or The Villain in WWE '12

Yay! Being the villain is always more fun

I skipped the last few Smackdown games, but the more I see... the more i want to try it out.

I do like the idea that they've focused their ideas and really made the RtWM actually fun to play.

But Sheamus is a face now, why would throwing him through a door make you a hero?

I know that they just HAVE to do this games every single year, but why do they need to suck so much?

I haven't bought a SmackDown game since 2005 I think. Are they seriously still building the story mode around getting to WrestleMania? They've been doing this for over 10 years.

Last game I played of these is Smackdown 2 on the PS1, since getting back into wrestling after seeing the CM Punk promo I am fucking itching to get this for some reason. Still debating if I should give in to temptation.

Last wrestling game I played was Smackdown on PS2 8 years ago. And I had already given up on WWF long before that. I remember HHH cutting his first ever promo around the time I stopped watching.

But just like you, saw the CM Punk promo, and was like "alright, let's try this again."

I'd itch for a WWE RPG, with less fighting but waaaaaaay more branching storylines. This on the other hand, looks exactly like the game I played in 2003, except I won't be drinking with my flatmates every time I play it.

Wrestling is so damn dumb these days, but I still think Punk has incredible mic skillz.

I'm ok with Sheamus being a story character (even though he's a face now)

but Triple H? It's 2011, and I don't want to play as Triple H anymore. They could have went crazy and picked anyone as the outsider, but HHH is a lazy pick.

I really wish they wouldn't spoil so much in the trailer. :|

These always have these game modes that seem really cool but the gameplay is such shit that it's never worth it.

They've never forced a storyline for a particular wrestler.

Is it me, or do the graphics in these games ( wwe franchise ) get shittier and shittier in every installment? I mean these look like they took a step back to 2004 standards. Just for the record, the developers should make smoe greating lighting and particle effects. They just look way out dated. Freaking WWE All-Stars looked graphically ,and not by art direction, superior to this game and the passed WWE games. One word: PASS.

Huh? The RTWM mode that this trailer is focusing on is literally entirely different than the approach they've been taking with RTWM every other game.

Poo, I was gonna get this after not playing a WWE game for years, but it looks shit!

The only people I recognize in that trailer is the Big Show and Triple H. Damn... so many new faces..

I think I'm still gonna give it a shot, because it does look like they've made efforts to make the gameplay flow more and also at least I can just punch Kelly Kelly's lights out over and over again.

Wrestling is so dumb. But I love it.

Universe mode sounds like a big improvement this year, it sounds like they've almost made the game I want.. with the lack of custom belts being the only thing that really hurts it. That said, I expect there to be a "feature" there somewhere that completely ruins the mode, like what happens every year.

The fact they're still using the same gameplay engine from the original Smackdown engine on the PSOne is also totally inexcusable at this point. The game just looks horrible.

i just want it to be fun to play, playing allstars was hillarious and i loved the way it controlled, now playing SvR 11 the controls suck hard so i hope they work on the that. graphically i hope they clean it up a bit man it looks rough in some spots.

Does anyone know who is the narrator (the tv commercial/ppv promoter)? Been hearing a lot of him recently in other stuff.

I actually kinda like this development. Call me vain, but it always bugged me that I'd set my created wrestler as a "heel" only to have him act like a "face" in the story mode.
