Space hulks are essentially derelict ships with things the Imperium wants. Or wants to destroy. Since things in the 40k universe are messed up, these space hulks pop in and out of the warp willy nilly.

And like Brad's router, bugs LOVE these things.

More Warhammer 40k video games is exactly what the world needs.

Oh maaan they're making another game about my favorite board game. Hopefully this'll be as good as those early 90s ones.

And they have really cool names like "Sin of Damnation" (the setting of this game) and "Judgement of Carrion" (from DoW2)

It's not even just a ship but rather an amalgamation of hundreds if not thousands of ships that have ended up drifting the warp for so long that they've fused into one huge piece of space trash. They're also consistently filled to the brim with abominations, Tyranids and any other plot-convenient monstrosities not to mention tons of fancy gadgets that everyone wants.

e: Ahah, it's more XCom than Space Marine. Also, that Librarian looks super bored to be shooting up Tyranid.

I spent a long time not knowing the old PC game was connected with 40k, let alone that it was a board game at some point.

Great game, very claustrophobic moving your squad of giant religious space warriors around in those coridoors.

I got the PS1 game for free back in the day and didn't understand anything about the universe. Now that I know it's Warhammer I can see why nothing made sense to me.

@patrickklepek Yes, being a derelict space craft infested with aliens and demons traveling randomly through the warp would probably be a crappy occupation... if inanimate objects could have jobs that is.

Being a Space Marine Terminator on the other hand, definitely a shitty job.

I feel some pride that I haven't completely lost my geeky obsession with Warhammer 40k... seeing this on twitter I was already hammering 'SPACE HULK IS THE SH' into the comment box before checking how many people beat me too it :)

This trailer seems awful. I think the game might alright though.

These are the guys who made a Space Hulk PC game, a tiny freeware project by Space Hulk fans: http://www.teardown.se/

They were working on Space Hulk II when Games Workshop hit them with a big fat C-and-D even though it was freeware. So they changed it to 'Alien Assault', it uses the exact same rules as Space Hulk, but they changed the space marines to generic sci-fi dudes. I think you should download their game.

Ok, I thought this was THE Hulk, as in, the Incredible Hulk...but in space. I thought that, and I was happy. But then I read the wiki, and now I am sad.

The models look great, but the animations seem SUPER-sluggish. Lack a lot of intensity and punch.

Looking forward to it! Those are some damn narrow corridors though; if I were wearing that Terminator armour I'd forever be catching my shoulder pad on some vent or bit of pipe.

I choose to believe that Patrick said "being a Space Hulk" just because he knows Giant Bomb is full of WH40k fans and our disgruntlement gives him great glee. Or just to troll Vinny.

Also uh excuse me Patrick, Space Hulk's are derelict amalgamations of ships/debris/etc that have combined to create a huge form that drifts at random in and out of the warp, the soldiers who go IN to the Hulks are Space Marines wearing Tactical Dreadnought armour, or more commonly, Terminator armour in this case specifically of the Blood Angels chapter, what with the fighting and the shooting and the killing of the Genesteeealers. Ba-hay!
