Bungie Talks About Destiny

Hmm, i wonder if they will release a pc version. Nevertheless this will probably be the last big release on current gen, the preorder date is listed as 31st Dec 2013.

Getting a little too much of a Mass Effect vibe from the story beats. I guess we'll see.

The makers of Halo bring you the next futuristic sci fi shooter with doods in bulky space armor. I hope it's REALLY awesome, but yah, unless they really got an ace up their sleeve with some clever as heck game mechanics then it just looks like another sci fi shooter.

I was hoping to see more of the game, not surprised though.

Welp, last time Bungie published a PC game was 12 years ago, so I wouldn't have my hopes that up.

It seems to me that it's liker Borderlands in space but a whole lot more interesting and realized. Excited to know more and hopefully we see it this Wednesday at the PlayStation press conference.

Prediction: Jeff will review it. It will get 4 stars.

Let's have an open world FPS for the next generation, lets break new barriers.

Make the people want your product and want to immerse themselves in your universe for extended amounts of time. Put the investment into it and see the results.

This will just be another sci-fi shooter unless otherwise.

Anyways, there had better be a PC version of this (Maybe even a Mac and Linux? *sigh* why do I even bother to bring it up.)

Sooo... a persistant MMO FPS thing? Mite B cool. I wonder if they edited this reveal in such a way to scare people. The first thing you see is an iPhone app, and you go "Is that it? Their making zillion dollar phone games?" Then a bunch of concept art, and "Has anything been coded yet?" They finally show some in-game stuff in the last minute.

If they are getting serious about lore again, like the Marathon trilogy, this could be a good time. Hoping for a PC version.

So it's an MMO, but Bungie winches at that categorization. Yeah, I'm sure this will turn out great.

They are so busy trying to not put the game in any box, that they completely fail at conveying what the game actually is.

I hate how developers think that not drawing comparison to existing work will make people think they are revolutionary and transcending genres, give me a break.

I will wait for a quick look with the final disc, and until then they won't have another second of my attention.

Pretty sure he means the scope of the universe and its lore, not the sales numbers or frequency of new entries.

I think I've reached the point where I'm cynical enough to view most of this kind of stuff as PR bullshit. That said, it sounds like they have some neat ideas and I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this.

The entire video is just PR bullshit. Talking about how they're doing something so ambitious but are just crazy enough to pull it off and how epic it is is 100% PR faff. Don't believe anything they say until actual gameplay videos come out.

Buncha PR bullshit. I mean, it looks pretty and the designs are really intriguing but this trailer was pretty much cookie cutter nonsense, albeit from Bungie who's fairly proven themselves in the FPS area already, so I am interested anyways by what it'll be.

I would be okay with a first-person Mass Effect, so long as they're not as bad at dropping the ball as Bioware was.

So long as they make combat really exciting, then, regardless how cheesy all of this sounds, I'm game.

I'll be the first to say after reading IGN, watching this and @jeff's underwear video that i'm not sure what the fuss is about. As all this was building up in the last 24 hours I was really excited to see what Bungie were gonna offer... and i'm still waiting to see. From all the coverage i've watched, I've seen less than 10 seconds of game.

So there next game is gonna be the Dreamcast's Phantasy Star Online, modernised and sliced with Halo and Bungie employ some good concept artists.

At this point, my only opinion is that I want to see more.
