Nobody watches TV anymore and has to deal with those commercials; everybody has Adblock; what's one single advertisement going to do to hurt anybody? "Brought to you by GamerGlovz, because you need that extra power when you game!" "That hurt to say." "Yeah, it was great." ...and then it's over with.

No keep that stuff away. I pay for this site I don't want ads.

Also, the re-design looks fantastic. I cannot wait to get my hands on it and play around with it.

My favourite podcast - Dan Carlin's Hardcore History - has ads at the start and finish (generall for Amazon's Audiobook company). And that's a long-form podcast which relies on atmosphere and story-telling. It's not a problem at all.

I like the reviews, but I feel alone in that.

Try to listen to Weekend Confirmed and have the same Gamefly ad played every podcast. Becomes annoying.

Bombcast monetization wouldn't be a bad thing since I could just skip it anyways!

You pay for the podcasts? Last time I checked, they were free.

If it bugs you that much, just skip over the first minute of the podcast. It takes you two seconds of exhausting work to accomplish this feat. Good Luck.

So stop acting like a preventive dickhead and start arguments with people who actually openly provoke that kind of reaction, instead of resorting to insults from the get-go just because someone dared to politely say shit on an internet forum.

If you guys can get some ads on the podcasts then get on it already. It would be crazy not to. Make that ad team work.

I believe they've said on previous videos that the player is in the works for the redesign as well, and we kinda see a little bit of it in these videos, assuming they represent the final product.

I'm not a huge fan of the CBSi player myself with it's faults and lackings in functionality; I've opted for Youtube in most cases.

Likewise, but there's no YouTube option for these premium archives, and they're some of my favorite stuff. Here's hoping they can get a better streaming system implemented that satisfies CBSi's advertising reqs.

So pissed I missed watching this live, I completely forgot while playing Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.

edit: I thought that itunes downloads the podcast from the apple servers, wtf?

Nerdist podcast is "monetized." There is an ad at the beginning, and at the end. Bombcast is longer, so maybe an ad at the hour mark(s) too. You can still fast forward. Cowboy up.

I have a feeling that Jeff or Vinny or someone will find a way to make the ads work in a MBMBaM way and not make them seem smarmy and horrible in a Judge John Hodgman way. I'm going to listen either way, I visit Giant Bomb every day, so I trust the bomb squad to not treat me like an idiot.
