Dragons Blacken the Sky in WOW's Latest Patch

@Dark_Lord_Spam: Yeah but WoW is an MMO. It would really suck if I got to level 85 and killed deathwing, then I had nothing to build up to for the next two years when the next patch comes out. In a game, you build up to the ending, that's exactly what's happening, just over much more time than a game like UC2. Deathwing is the main bad guy in the Cataclysm Expansion, we spent the last year building up to him, and now we get to kill him. It's not like players have had a lack of content either. When the game came out there were 3 raids, then they patched it a few months later with more. Now there is this patch that adds this raid. It's the standard model for almost every MMO out there. Sure, Deathwing was patched in later, but that's just how MMO's work, and it's not like we had to pay for another expansion to kill him. When we buy Cataclysm, we still get all of Cataclysm, it just takes time to build all of this content. This may all sound crazy but it makes complete sense if you play.

@Dark_Lord_Spam: You know, major bad guys usually die at the end of a game. you don't fight the joker at the start of Arkham Asylum. You don't fight lazaravich at the start of Uncharted 2, see what I'm getting at?

so after this will it be all love&peace-ish in Pandaria?

I have also never played WoW, but I assume that everything I knew from Warcraft 1-3 is now wildly outdated or has been poorly retconned away. The fiction has moved forward considerably.

Tried the new heroics last night, Pretty easy to tank trough em and some nice story refrences there for WC players. As a casual games, I like what they have done with things, and after farming some HCs ill finally be able to check out firelands. (My guild only brings the "best" players.. Which is basicly the founders..)

Anyone else get a God of War 3 vibe from this trailer? I dunno.. the music and the way the camera panned out like that made me reminisce about the Titan fights alittle ;p

Other than that all this trailer does is remind me how glad I am to be rid of WoW, too much time devoted to so little payoff..

But yea, as an ex WoW player it does look okay. Glad to see some stuff actually happening at the Wyrmrest Temple, it was underused for how good it looks. Is the ultimate weapon a purified Ashbringer? Etc. 2 years ago, I'd be really excited. However, lots of people move on from MMOs with this kind of lifespan.

to be fair the game was released in nov. 2004 and there is only so much to do in the warcraft franchice and blizzard studio while people are screaming for more startcraft and diablo. but i dont agree with you. i was playing untill about 2 weeks in to wrath of the lich king untill i got sick of running a dungeon 117times just to get the right armor only to start all over on the next. but still it took me a hole year to see that wow was not for me

As much I found WoW to be quite dull and uninteresting by the end of Wrath of the Lich King, the designs for this raid looks absolutely awesome. Fucking fighting on the back of Deathwing? God damn looks so damn cool.

97% of "new contents" are re color of old monster, slap some armor and scale up a NPC, frankenstein 2 or 3 mob together to mix a new one. 
while the other do make 1 new boss at the end.

Looks fuckin' rad- If only I didn't have a job or school, I'd totally jump back in.

But it would never be the same. WoW is pretty much all I did my senior year of high school, no job and school was a breeze... but that was like 4 years ago.

pandas yet? im in with pandas and i have never played wow. but only if i ONLY have to press 3 buttons. i mouse click everything so it cant b hard or i QQ.

I hope Blizzard doesn't again fall into the trap of this being the last major content update of the expansion. It's a little weird how closely this patch cycle resembles that of WotLK: a year into the expansion the patch with the big final boss is put out, and then there's nothing until the next expansion. Well, nothing of substance at least. WotLK got one more raid boss. I would have assumed they were going to try to stretch out this story line a bit more, like by a few months.

Also, didn't they say way back when 4.1 came out that they'd be on some smaller, quicker patch cycle? But they've managed to put out the same number of patches in the same amount of time as during Wrath.

@Zenaxzd: oh shit. some people may scream but thats a fine idea. i can't commit to wow like i did in the past and that would let me see the content and maybe not have to hear people bitch too much.

thats the two things i hate about wow, the bitching and time requirement.

@Robopengy: They have a raid finder now that matches you with other people who want to do raids. These raids are also easier than if you were to go out and find a group on your own to do them. Anybody who actually wants to fight Deathwing will be able to.

Considering how easy the random raid finder fights are, you will be able to kill Deathwing even if you are the worst WoW player in the history of the game. At least, you will when Blizzard open up the last four bosses to the LFR system (only the first four are currently available).
