Dungeon Siege III's Kingdom Is In Peril

Haven't played any game of the series, but I'm still very interested in this one.

Everything I've read about the co-op makes it seem really unappealing.

Never played dungeon siege. looks interesting

It has fable 2 style co-op where 1 player plays the game and the rest are just helpers on his quest and can't use your character or progress in the story. Awful, awful idea and ruins the game.

Yeah, unfortunate bit on the co-op.  I wonder if there's any way they can patch it, hearing all of the uproar.

looks good, nice animations on the char... though i did hate the last one... shitty imbalanced spell system... and shitty story...

I loved, loved Dungeon Siege 2 and I can't wait to play DS3. I know it will be a solid RPG.

This sure does look like Dungeon Siege.
 
Hopefully I'll like this one more than I did DS2.

Heh, I remember ditching my main character in the original Dungeon Siege after I picked up the first dwarf I ran. Made him my new 'main' character. Cutscenes still talked as though the humble farmer from the fields was leading the party. Didn't even balance out my team, just had a bunch of plated dudes smashing shit with two-handers. Good times.

Did you know that if you pre-order Dungeon Siege 3 on Steam you will get DS1 and DS2 for FREE on Steam when the game comes out at the end of May. Which means that Steam is going to offer the previous games... I'll get the first game because I haven't played it :)

Would they do a better job releasing a bug-free build of this more streamlined game? Or Obsidian, would they ever change?

I remember playing Dungeon Siege 2. It wasn't very good. I would like to think that this installment will be better. 

I really want this game to be good... but it probably won't be. :(

Oh Obsidian. You are the hand-me-down RPG developer, aren't you? Considering the commercial and critical failure of your only original attempt, I guess that's how it is going to be for a long while.

I just can't get interested in a game called "Dungeon Siege." It's like the most generic name imaginable.

Demons Souls is a pretty generic name and it's a great game. Hell Dragon Age isn't the most original name on the planet "

Did the writing and delivery on that voice-over seem pretty bad to anyone else? Maybe I'm just crabby today.

They used to be called Black Isle where they created a bunch of original IPs like Fallout, fucking dimwit. "

From what I've seen, this game is going to a much more solo experience, which I think is a massive bummer. I really enjoyed the team dynamic and the gameplay in the first game, and it doesn't look to be the same. Hopefully they'll keep and/or remake the main theme from the first game - it's so damn iconic and catchy.

Obsidian makes the best games. Alpha protocol is genuinely in like my top 3 games of the year for 2010.
That said nothing really looked that special in this trailer. Hopefully something shines through a bit in a longer gameplay video.

Never been the biggest Dungeon Siege fan. I'll wait for some reviews to see how this one comes out.

Will I still get a mule to carry all my stuff and run away in terror when the fighting starts?

This is a sure buy for me if it has good local multiplayer co-op.

Cool, but I don't understand why this is featured.

well Dungeon Siege 2 was interesting, but it was just a Diablo clone like Torchlight is. I hope this time there will be much more interesting ideas of their own.
