E3 2013: Catch Up with Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix

I really liked that first game, is it worth going further? Also why is 2 not in this?

Hmm. If 358/2 is only cutscenes, then I've already experienced all the gameplay to be had in this. That said, if there's a 2.5 HD collection, then I'll obviously have to get both because SHELF AESTHETICS!

@wraxend: I agree its essential to the story but with it being such a new release and on a current gen hand held I can see it not making the collection. I hope I'm proven wrong.

@screamingghost: Hmm I just think that if they want people to get the story they'll have to release either DDD as a game or cutscene/movie on 2.5 as it is integral to the main story with the revelation about Org13 and Xehanort.

Yeah this is probably not the last release before KH3. I think they will probably do a "2.5 remix", which would include KH2, KH: BBS (PSP) and maybe cutscenes from KH: 3D or something.
A game takes time to make and the team is JUST now done with FF XV and has only yet started on developing KH3.
It'll be a few years more.

@wraxend: Doubt DDD will be included but it would be awesome if it did. I see it as KH2, BBS, and cut scenes from Re: Coded. I'd love to be proven wrong though.

@thewu_tangbab I don't remember specifically where I read it but I read Tetsuya saying it would be silly for them not to make 2.5 Remix next. I think even to the extent that the secret ending equivalent on the 1.5 Remix hints to it. What will be included though is up to speculators there's four other games in the series. Strong bet is that it will be KH II, Birth by Sleep (Remastered similar to what Kojima did with Peace Walker), and Re: Coded (Cut scenes).

Wait, so they have KH1 and those two stupid anime bullshit mobile games, but not KH2? wtf?

I've really been wanting to go back and play the first one and now I can.

Thanks, I was leaning towards it anyway. According to Amazon's listing it is going to be $39.99. And I'm totally fine with stuff being Japanese as fuck, at least from time to time.

@yunafire: Well KH3 is probably 2+ years off, so there's time to release another remaster. I thought it odd as well, but I guess this makes more chronological sense? (i.e. Chain of Memories is before KH2 or something)

Seems odd not to include KH2 in this remix imo. I'm sure there's others who will want to play the series all the way through before KH3 comes out.

I came in here jaded, not looking forword to this at all.

But then Remembering nightmare before christmas world, and everything was pretty great.

@sleepydoughnut: if it's like $40 I'd say go for it. KH1 has some camera issues that I think they fixed in the Final Mix and then Chain of Memories was one of the best god damn GBA games ever. In this you get the ReMix of that where they built it on either the KH1 or 2 engin I forget. Just don't really expect any of it to make sense, it's japanease as fuck just tons of metaphysical anxt and talk and yea. But it's also kinda fun.

You know, I did and I still have no idea what was going on. Maybe they just should've made the story coherent from the start. The whole premise lost me - I thought they were abandoned on just some random island and they were trapped in weird dream sequences...and then there's Disney characters and something. I dunno.

Depends on what you mean. Final Fantasy X/X2 HD Remaster is happening, but 2.5 hasn't been confirmed yet, even though expect it to happen.

It contains the first few games so it is as good a place to start as any.

Because every time I try to figure it out...it loses me. I loved that original game but then I was like 14 when it came out, and even then the ending made NO SENSE AT ALL.

I think they should be more upfront about 358/2 Days being the cutscenes only, and not the actual game.
