E3 2013: Fez II Announcement Teaser

Where did you get the idea that he hates big games? He fucking loves Halo and has said he would love to work on a big game one day. I think you are projecting a lot of shit onto Phil that actually has nothing to do with him.

All the nonsensical hatred for Phil Fish makes me love the dude even more.

Not a fan of the first game but this is just a great teaser. The original never really clicked with me and always seemed like you really needed to dive in extremely deep to get the most out of the game, which I just wasn't willing to do. Even if I end up not liking this one either, I can still always appreciate Phil Fish's ability to piss off nerds.

If you're going to try and make this stupid argument, the least you could do is get the details right. It would have cost Fish $40,000 to do the 360 patch, not 10.

And guess what - for an indie game that sold about 200,000 copies and profits had to be shared with two other companies (Microsoft and Trapdoor), $40,000 is a lot of money.

I'm not gonna play a game I'd totally enjoy because Phil Fish is a meano who won't be my friend. Internet outrage: Am I doing it right?

Awesome - it's going to be really tough for him to top the original though. Everyone went into Fez expecting a platformer with a cool gimmick and great graphics/music. Then we got utter puzzle insanity. Can't pull that trick twice, so we'll see what they can do.

I'd like to think this is one giant middle finger to all the overdramatic and pissy Phil Fish haters. Can't wait to play this.

Phil Fish seems like a totally okay person who I wouldn't mind having a drink with, or not.

I hope this game is in a completely different setting. Fez and the world and characters it defined do not need to be revisited.

It would be awesome if this one included some kind of level editor so the community could make content.

Fez was amazing, I can't wait to see more of Fez 2.

My save file got screwed up so when I went back to it to try and finish everything I had to start over. (I was in New Game+ by that point)

The game is cool from a conceptual standpoint, especially when it comes to all the crazy language puzzle stuff in it and the insane secrets...but it's kind of a freaking boring game to play.

I'll finish it anyway to just see what's what, and I wonder what they'll try with a sequel. I mean, it can't just do the same stuff or it'll be too predictable.

Let's hire some testers to work out the bugs before release with that Fez 1 money, eh Phil? kthnx

Because he didn't test for bugs in the first? Maybe you know a secret, but games are difficult to make and impossible to create and release without some bugs getting though.

I was completely oblivious of the whole Phil Fish shitstorm until it was over. I played some of Fez and really liked it, so I'm pretty excited about this.

I... what? Fez II is a thing? Wow. Shit. Did not expect that ever. Hell, the only times I have considered the possibility of Fez sequels was... as a joke because I felt it was a very singular experience. I thought you'd never see Fez 15. Maybe we still won't obviously but we're one step closer!

Really.. FEZ was very charming and pretty to look at. Also the level design left me thinking; I would have loved to see the process of creating them. Also could some one at least back up all these accusations of him being a dick? I have watched Indie Game: The Movie, and I could see where he was coming from. I cannot imagine the pressure of every one expecting your game to be some sort of masterpiece after just a trailer. Then having to live of of small Canadian government grants, while missing release year after year.

I would say they can't recreate the magic now that we know what Fez is all about, but hey, that's what I thought about Virtue's Last Reward and they proved me wrong.

I hold no opinion of Phil Fish. That being said, I wasn't crazy about Fez.

Was Fez worth playing? Coming to it late I kind of feel daunted by all the talk of hidden layers and extreme puzzle solving. It's good, yes?

Interesting. Fez might be one of my favorite game experiences ever, but i have to admit i never really thought about a sequel. It was such a singular experience that I wonder how a second go-round will work.

That being said I will be there day one (in 2020, when it's released).

Man, this is possibly the most exciting thing to come out of the E3 period for me. While he has a habit of putting his foot in his mouth, the way Phil deals with the people who have such an irrational hatred of him is spectacular and I will buy another five copies because fuck all y'all.
