E3 2013: Will You Stand Against the Inquisition in Dragon Age?

Okay, but will it be any good this time?

Morrigan!

Guess it's time to finish the second one. Not like I've had it since release or anything.

Can they redeem it? My expectations are low, but I'm willing to see what happens.

Don't pre-order this. Make them earn it.

All I hope for is:

1) If they bring back Hawke, please make him a minor character.

2) Please allow us to explore a world, not just one city (and its surrounding hills)

I thoroughly enjoyed both games and cannot wait for both this and the witcher!

Some actual game play footage would be nice and not a cut scene that shows nothing of the actual game.

Really happy just to see that this is looking to set the story on a much grander scale and won't be tied to a single damned city again. Looks like it may even potentially span multiple countries instead of just the one.

The second game while certainly not a bad game, hell maybe I would say it was a good or even great game was marred by the fact that it (aside from some some aesthetic and slight combat changes) was inferior to the first Dragon Age in every way. It had its moments and if it wasn't called Dragon Age 2 and people stopped comparing it to the first then most people would agree it was very well made (not game of the year quality but up there). Problem is that Bioware decided to make it a direct sequel so you can't blame people for being disappointed. Hopefully they learned their lesson and put the proper amount of effort into 3. Also this game pot wise looks like it has the mass effect 2 thing of "the dark middle chapter" going for it and that helps a lot.

Heh, fall 2014 this alone gives me a lot more hope for this one.

Is this a Dragon Age: Origins Dragon Age or a Dragon Age 2 Dragon Age? That's the real question.

I enjoyed both Dragon Age games, excited for more.

Faces looked a little weird. Pudgy or something.

Was really disappointed how they altered the gameplay from 1 to 2. Both were day 1 purchases for me. This is no longer an instant buy for me until I hear feedback.

I wonder how they'll handle importing saves on this one, seeing as it'll be on new hardware and all...

If this is more in line with DA:O than DA II then I will be happy. Bioware can't afford to have this blow up in their faces.

Eh, DA2 was an ok game. It was definitely rushed, but in some ways it had the makings of a far better game than the original ever was. Let's hope they pull it off this time.

Morrigan! But I'll still wait for the reviews. Dragon Age 1 is one of my favorite games of the current generation, Dragon Age 2...Not so much.

Skipped 2 because it looked and seemed pretty balls after Origins PC.

If Morrigans back, I'll likely follow.

Honestly I would rather there be way more carry overs from DA2 than Origins. Only significant flaw I found with that package was the cramped Dev time.

Origins on PC is a top shelf game to this day. Hopefully the subtitle and lack of a number means they're trying to invoke that first game.

They brought back Morrigan and Varric. No sign of fucking Hawke or any of the rest of the one-bit shitlords from DA2 (Varric doesn't count, he was a fourth-wall breaking cool dude). I am tentatively interested.

As someone who really didn't hate 2 (particularly the characters), this was always a probably. Now looking more definite.

will this have some kind of save game function from the last two games, because I wanna know before playing this game

I like how the what's their faces, dudes with horns, got a redesign yet again. Every new DA game they make that race look different heh.

As a huge fan of Origins, and a believer that DA2 was a steaming pile, BioWare has a long way to sell me on another Dragon Age. Bringing back Morrigan is not really a very good start.

Meh, Bioware kind of used up all their goodwill with me after DA2, ME3, and ToR. Sad really, they used to be such a great company focused on quality storytelling.

This is what I always thought. They should have called it "Dragon Age: Champion of Kirkwall" or something. Set it as a spinoff/sidestory to the main game. People might have tolerated it more that way.

Me, I'm one of the few who liked it just fine. I'm curious who you'll be playing in this new one. I'm torn since I really did like my Hawke and his/her companions, but I also really missed my hard drinkin', hard fightin' dwarf warden.

I really don't think the Warden will ever be seen again. Which really might be for the best since most of the outcomes for that character are a pretty goddamn good note to end a personal story on.

I'd definitely play another game as Snarky Hawke, but it'll probably just be someone entirely new.

I find that she always sounds like that, outside of her Uncharted work. Claudia Black has a great voice but is not a great voice actor. A pity, because Farscape.

Next gen huh. Fancy new graphics and stuff and all they can do is make Morrigan look like one of the $5 quicky's found in St Kilda.

Kill the mutant. Burn the heretic. Purge the unclean.

The Emperor Protects

You know what? I bloody loved both Dragon Age's not matter the faults in either. I even liked playing as a different hero in a more insular setting, rather then being the exhaled by fate chosen one for the umteenth time.

I liked that the were prepared to use the same universe to tell different stories that intertwine somewhat, but choosing to massively expand on the cast within that world, thereby making it a larger fleshed out world - in the tradition of many great sci-fi and fantasy chronicles - ie Discworld and it's huge cast all existing in the same universe. For me it also meant the universe didn't suffer with John McClane syndrome of all these amazing things in this huge universe always happening to the one person and one person only.

So I am very much looking forward to see what come next. Another new protagonist picking up the loose threads from the previous tales. The return of a hero, or even a bold step of splitting the campaign between both our previously playable heroes.

I can't wait to find out.

Of course if they just reuse the same cave the over and over once again, I'll be screaming from the rooftops with the rest of you.

Base the gameplay and story on Origins, while retaining ties to DA2's storyline. Shed some light on Morrigan's child with the warden. Keep Origins party members around or give cameos.
