that dude reminds me of Journey to the West...are they connected?
he kinda moves like a monkey and wield a staff
not to mention some of the visual themes

it's basically futuristic Monkey Magic..the head band is a direct influence from the show as is the staff..but it because of that influence that I can't wait to play!

Looks kind of interesting.  For some reason I'm getting a kind of "Mark of Kri" or "Rise of Kasai" vibe off of it.  The one thing that concerns me is that I feel like I've seen this game in development for quite some time, and it's not looking all that polished as of right now.

 An exceptionally loose retelling of "Journey to the West", Enslaved follows the story of Monkey and Trip as they attempt to cross a post-apocalyptic Planet Earth.
 
If they wanted to do that they could have just made another DBZ game

I'm cautiously optimistic. I think the story could be pretty cool, but the animations look pretty rough right now. I'm spoiled on Prince of Persia I guess.

I'm kinda sad that Sony dropped them because I really wanted to play Heavenly Sword 2, but it is good that gamers on other platforms will get to play their games now.

would have liked to have seen more views of the faces and facial animations because that is what stands out most from Ninja Theory and Heavenly Sword. I would love to see what they have done to advance those processes cause they are still some of the best to date.

Yes. I especially liked the scenes inbetween the missions. You know, when Nariko is standing in that desolate plane (where you also select your next mission) with where she seems to be talking to nothing; the delivery in those scenes is outstanding. 
And Kai was indeed amazing. I also loved how the writers put in that reference to the legendary demonstration of Genji: Days of the Blade--Kai says something about weak spots and massive damage.

I was really excited for this game, but the graphics are so bad here it looks like it's designed for the PS2, or hell, maybe even the Wii. I'm pretty seriously bummed out now.

It looks cool, but originally the idea of a whole game based on an escort mission really put me off lol... Hopefully it'll be good and they'll do interesting things with it. :D

I disagree 100%, i think it was the best cutscenes i had ever watched in my life up until that point, and not many have topped it since; in fact  i played the game FOR the cutscenes... The actors actually acted which is super rare.... Kai was amazing.

I think Saiyuki: Journey West 
is about as close as you're going to get. My roommate had this and showed me a bit of the game. It's pretty close to Final Fantasy Tactics in game play, but it's close to the story of Journey to the West without having some crazy artistic spin on it . . . like Enslaved.
