Experiment With All the Different Classes in Dark Souls

Such a fantastic game, I advise everyone to give it a shot!

It doesn't matter how cool you make your character look your still gonna die.

Just got this game, but I haven't been able to try it yet because of Skyrim. I'm hoping to be able to invest a decent amount of time before the end of the year though, and this trailer makes me want to go play

Great trailer. I love this game. It's so satisfying and rewarding.

@liquidfkinfire: I definitely like the game is about discovery, which is why I don't watch a lot of let's play kinds of videos on the game, but I feel like just showing the bosses, as opposed to how to properly fight them or navigate areas doesn't diminish the experience, but that it makes me more eager to play the game again when I can.

Neat to see a trailer less about the player dying to horrible monstrosities and more about them kicking ass, because you can definetly kick ass in this game.

Game is so good.

I'm gonna be putting it down for a while once Skyrim comes out, but I know I'll keep coming back.

This trailer makes me afraid to continue playing.

That's one big ass wolf! Swinging a sword like Amaterasu and shit.

Pretty psyched to get further into the game.

I defeated the final boss w/o using a shield. Not bragging; just saying that it can be awesome in the right situations to waylay and stagger enemies while two-handing a great sword.

True, but that fight was unique for me. He's very vulnerable to parries.

Yeah, enjoy Qik's stream. He's easy to watch.

Best game of the year? No. Best game EVER. Period.

Needs a PVP arena with ranking and matchmaking...then it'd be the best game EVER EVER PERIOD PERIOD.

God, these trailers just keep getting better and better and make me wish Thanksgiving break were already here, so I can pick up where I left off in the game.

I would buy this game if it came out on a PC. I don't own a PS3, and my 360 redringed, and I don't plan on fixing it, or replacing it.

So, it's basically just Barbie's Horse Adventure with light RPG elements.

@ChrisTaran: From the many responses I've heard regarding age gates over time, they are required to ask each time you play a video due to regulations. On the other hand I rail against the impotence of age gates simply by choosing the oldest year on the list and leaving Jan 1st as the date. It's a stupid reg but it's something they have no choice but to comply with.

The trailer title is sort of misleading, but it's not really a big deal. Outsider should just be aware that you could be a fireball throwing Wolverine wannabe in a massive suit of armour if you wanted to. Dark Souls has a classless skill system where you decide your own playstyle.

@Hagane: I know :( I'm looking forward to that endurance run too, I wish they'd hurry up and start it already!

As for Dark Souls, there's a few good playthroughs on youtube (darksyde phil's in particular was very enjoyable; shame he didn't finish it). I think Dark Souls lends itself perfectly to an Endurance run, because it literally is a test of endurance; I could imagine the GB guys actually giving up and stopping play.

Wow, they showed too much of the game I think. So much of the game is about the unknown, and showing most of the bosses and wild enemies, people won't be as surprised if they jump in now.

I want to go home and sink more time into this game. GOTY right here.

This game is just as much fun to watch as it is to play... *hint*endurance run*hint* :D

I was hoping this would be more of the GB crew playing Dark Souls.

It's refreshing to see continued support for this game. Lots of titles have their big media blitz before release and then disappear from view. Nice to think of games not as disposable commodities but worthy experiences that endure.

Game of the year, and I'm a hardcore PC gamer. Nothing has entranced and enchanted my gamer buddies like this in a long time, and I can see why. It's a modern day version of Vagrant Story.

When clicking this I was really hoping it was a premium video where Vinny and co were playing around with different Dark Souls builds :( Need more Giantbomb Dark Souls videos!

Having gotten an S rank in this game already, it's fun to see the trailers coming out now. Not sure why these didn't exist before the game came out but this is a pretty good one.

@jessej07: Join the forest hunter covenant, then go to blight town. Near the waterwheel elevator shiva should be there. He sells em.

The likely reason there are more trailers created for this game is marketing. Dark Souls likely sold well enough in the first weeks of release to warrant more advertising so more consumers would be aware it existed. These trailers are not made for the likes of you and I (most of the GiantBomb community already know the game is out).

I think it's smart that they keep releasing trailers after release. This is one of those games that can have a long tail saleswise. Through word-of-mouth, and just people waiting for a suitable moment (like holiday season) before investing in such an epic, time draining adventure. Keeps the game from being forgotten about.

You will never get a PC version of a console game from a Japanese developer. That's pretty much exclusively a Capcom (and sometimes Squeenix) thing.

Unfortunate because I'm sure this game would be pretty amazing on PC.

Now I feel bad, because I haven't had time to play in a while. Eff you uni!

I think the age gates come from the publisher, not Giant Bomb. Besides it defaults to 1963 for me, so all I have to do is hit play just like any other video.

They've said as much on the bombcast before. If the company says put it behind an age gate, they do. Giantbomb has nothing to do with that decision.

I am pretty positive you either have my birth date or could easily ask me for it once and never need it again. There is no reason an age gate should exist.
