@hughesman: Piracy has no impact on hardware sales, if anything it would encourage them. That's also not where the profit is made. Software sales is the actual issue.

I'd say read the first book before watching the series. It's more fun and satisfying IMO to form the visuals in your head first; if you watch the show, that's the only thing you'll be able to visualize while you read the book. That's not necessarily a bad thing, as a massive GRRM fan I was extremely impressed and pleased with what they did for the series, but now trying ...

@Alex: Yeah, in that sense, it's at least not a completely broken experience, just a thoroughly unpleasant one. It's really just semantics; in the end, it's not a good game, and the review definitely got that across.

Not to be 'that guy', but a two star game should have some sort of redeeming factor, somewhere. If ya can't recommend anything about the game at all, it's one star. Not like it's a big deal either way, the general consensus on this game is all around poor.

@Gaff: Oh yeah, certainly. But the way they pushed BF3 on PC as the 'lead' platform, it's gotta be around a third at least. Which would be around half the Origin subscribers. Just spitballing obviously since they'll never dig that deep on the numbers.

The Origin numbers are a lot less impressive when you consider it's the only online platform for Battlefield 3. Gets even less impressive when they sold more copies than they got subscribers.
