I actually stopped playing Gears 1 about 3/4 of the way through due to some of it's bad design. For instance, can you defend that horrible night-time portion? On the other hand, Gears 2 kept me happy all the way til the end. Sure it didn't change a lot of stuff, but neither do the Halo games and people don't complain about Halo 3 (as much). It was just the way Gears 1 SHOULD have been.  Now if you have problems with the multiplayer, I have no comment. I never touched the multiplayer outside of playing coop with my wife. "

These games are awesome, but goddamn it I wish the tone of the actual game was as consistent (or maybe just as successful) as it is in their trailers. 
 
But if it ends up pulling out the "teaming together to fight a greater enemy twist!" I will eat my goddamn hat.

Gears of War 3: Beard Edition

The best way to play Gears is to turn the sound off and play Iron and Wine songs the whole time. 

A year? Looks cool though, still haven't played Gears 2 yet.

Gears of War 2 killed my interest in the franchise.

omg dom got a beard, most inventive thing in gears 3 thus far methinks. Or maybe it's just chunky sam fisher, we all know splinter cell has gone microsoft now XD. anyway, I'm just kinda bitter at the fact that my xbox-owning friends'll be up in my face about this all the way upto april, the damn fanboys. other than that, the whole pompeii vibe is kinda cool if done well, and I like the song. I'll probably play this on my friend's xbox at some point.
