Remember when everyone was all

OH NO, GIANT BOMB SOLD OUT TO THE MAN

Now you tell me, whats more anti-establishment then open mockery of the sacred "safety" drill?

LMFAO, I love how no one gives a damn about the earthquake safety drill or the instructions, damn at my job they do a stupid fire drill like its a school, they make us orderly exit the building and our leads take count of us, so stupid, if a fire actually happened ppl would run out of there like George Costanza

Yeah, because they weren't prepared for a TSUNAMI, not an EARTHQUAKE. The preparedness for the two is nothing alike, and tsunami preparedness isn't even practiced here on the West Coast, so the entire argument is irrelevant.

Umm, I think you're missing the point of drills. You do these because when you're in a crisis situation, humans don't think. We act on instinct. Doesn't matter if it's an earthquake, fire, tsunami or bombing raid. You do drills so you are pre-programmed to act in a certain way when the crisis occurs.

Unless of course your argument is that quakes don't kill people...

Man, I recently saw a doc from Japan about the catastrophic tsunami and they showed how the lack of preparedness (not taking drills like this serious) cost so many lives...ugh

Pretty sure when the ground actually starts shaking, you need an alarm to tell you to get under something. Taking a stupid ass drill seriously isn't going to save you -- you just have to actually do what's been hammered into your head since you were 5 years old (Get under something secure, cover head or if possible hold on to something. Stay away from windows, etc.) which isn't very hard. A drill isn't necessary at all, at least not for the basics. Now, knowing which escape routes to take afterwards or during a fire, that's important because they're not always the same routes you normally take where you work.

Couple of thousand dead Japanese disagree.

First off, thank you Jeff for the look around the office. It was great to see Dave's workspace, though he made it sound more like a dark cave than just in all dim lit hallway surrounded by people. It's crazy how many people work in the building.

Secondly, I agree with Brad, Dragonlance is the shit! The first three Chronicles are unforgetable
