@GilbertMordinAndSullivan: FFFFFFFFFFFFUCK YES!! I use the Gatling cannons, the circular shockwaves and the big electric AOE attack. If you upgrade them you can simply plow right into an enemy base, spam the fuck out of your secondary weapon and destroy all their defensive turrets and planes instantly. It used to drive my brother fucking insane.

Played this at PAX East. Very fun! Didn't see any of the customization or upgrades. But a nice top-down dual stick shooter. 
 
And movement on the right stick dictates if you are firing and where.

Edit: The electric AoE attack was called the Riot Shield, and it was the best. Most obscure game I've ever wanted a sequel to probably. 
 
EditEdit: Oh, and this game makes me feel bad for liking it when I had no interest in Greed Corp.

As someone who thought Greed Corp. was neat (and totally worth the ~$3 I paid for it on Steam), this looks almost entirely unappealing to me. :[

Does not like this. Reminds me of Magicka: Vietnam--a joke brought to life. Greed Corp was a brilliant turn-based strategy game filled to the brim with intelligence. It doesn't sell so they release an explosion-heavy shooter? 
 
"Well, screw you guys. We had something wonderful. And it was too slow for you. What if it was a shooter then? Would you suckers have bought that?! Well, you know what, we'll make one!"

Greed Corp is NOTHING like this game, it's a turn based strategy game, which, although very good in its own right, shouldn't really be associated with this game. So try it by all means, just don't expect a dual joystick shooter.
 
In other news this game actually looks pretty cool, I just don't get why they went from Greed Corp, which is heavy on the thinking and careful playing, to a very explosiony shooter like this. I will remain suspicious until I play the game.

I am super bummed out by this.  Would have liked to see anything but a dual stick shooter from these guys.  Greed Corp was amazing and original, why would they go to this?

What a bizarre shift, German style turn based board game to dual stick shooter. I suspect this may have more  mass appeal.  Vanguard games wants to get paid yo.

The overarching world view behind these games always seemed a lot more interesting. Greed Corp felt like a quickie project to get something on the market - it got some good reviews but didn't really connect with me like a classic puzzle / strategy game.

Although I'm not really sold on this game, I freakin' love Greed Corp, and want these guys to succeed. So I'll buy it, god dammit.
