Halo: Reach ViDoc: Once More Unto the Breach

i like where they are going with this, but it's going to take a lot for them to recover after the choices they made through halo 2 to ODST.  the environments look great and the way they are making the elites more "alien" and "elite-like" (the way they should be, not fat lumbering idiots like in 2 and 3) is good.. but i still don't trust their storytelling or writing abilities. they have some people there who think it's a good idea to have a cliche hollywood one liner every 10 seconds in a custcene, and that's just dumb. completely takes you out of the immersion..  when they show some of the dialogue i will know if i am buying this game or not.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm looking forward to the next Halo game.

I thought it looked really awesome, the only thing that looked bad was that guy doing a COD type sprint. That's not good for the MP.

Also glad to see Halo will finally look next generation, I never thought the new Halo games looked that good, (especially for one of the biggest franchises of all time), and people who are blinded by their Halo fanboy eyes would always argue that yes it did look great - but here in Bungie's own words they are making the real next gen looking game.... And from the video it looks good! Just look at the difference in the guns they compare... wow! Halo deserved this kind of treatment years ago!

Now this I can get behind. Halo 1 was amazing and a return to form is needed badly.

I heard "polygons" a bit too many times. They should've talked more about the new sandbox nature of the gameplay and the new characters.

Nice.  I wasn't expecting much, but this trailer impressed me.  Looks like they're expanding on Halo's gameplay in some cool ways and the graphics look pretty damn good too.

A friend of mine play-tested this a few months back. He didn't seem too big on it, but this new footage makes it look awesome. And its pretty cool having already known about some of the info they're releasing for a couple months now. I got the inside scoop for once!

It's all about the polygons, yo.

You guys are truly misunderstanding the term "sandbox". It's a development phrase that involves the placement of objects, level design, AI, and geometry.
 
The term you lads and laddies are looking for is "open ended".

I cant believe how good this game looks. Reminds of the first time I played Halo CE.

It  looks like they put a lot more thought into the single player game than the previous Halos. Hopefully it works out to a good campaign and not that ODST let down.    

I haven't forgotten how awesome bungie is.  Been a fan of everything from Marathon and Myth, right up to the Halo series.
 
Glad to see them at least spicing up the formula again.  They are damn good at making games, but they seemed a bit afraid to try anything new after their cash-cow.

Cool. I haven't looked forward to a Halo game since Halo 2. This is piquing my interest though.

Pretty badass, but not quite enough badassary.

I haven't been interested by Halo since the very first. There just hasn't been enough evolution to the series since it hit the scene. This looks to be trying to do just that---evolve on combat evolved.
 
If enough good word is spread around by the beta and me trying it, then I'll gladly pick up a copy this fall.

Interesting, not that I have an Xbox or any real desire to play a Halo game. But at least this one made me not feel like "Fuck, another fucking Halo game with wack combat?"

Looks like a big improvement from 3.

This is what Halo 3 should've been...then people would've been more...ALOT MORE, interested in ODST. I'm not the only one who stepped over ODST when it came out.

I like how they spend nearly the entirety of the video telling us how their game finally looks graphically up to par with how it SHOULD have been over 2 years ago...and then continue in this epic spree by showing us how your character can sprint now XD

One thing I always hate is when game developers talk smack about previous games in their series, listening to these guys badmouthing Halo 3 just makes me shake my head, because I loved Halo 3, and I distinctly remember them doing exactly the same thing in the pre-release Halo 3 ViDocs, talking about how it was going to make the previous games look like crap. 
 
I mean, I'm really really looking forward to Reach, but all this 3-bashing isn't going to make me want it more, you know?
