Here's All the Stuff Being Added to Ultra Street Fighter IV

So does this mean that after the 4th iteration of the 4th street fighter game we can finally get a Capcom fighting game that IS NOT street fighter? Say Project Justice!?

I was always bad at using focus so that's gonna suck, still probably gonna get in on this. My guess for the fifth character remains: a redesigned Roxy.

Street Fighter 4 was one of my favorite and important games of this generation.

Maybe it's just me, but these re-releases don't really bother me. I get that it may seem sort of sleezy.. And I suppose in some ways it is, but they are appealing to their crowd and giving them something new on a somewhat regular basis. And it could just be an upgrade, if you already own previous versions of the game. The "people are still buying this shit?" types of comments come off as incredibly off base and ignorant. It's not that big a deal, and I think it's cool that this game has expanded so much since it's initial release. Maybe it isn't necessary to get every single version of the game, but to be angry about capcom trying to improve their game in different incarnations while mostly catering to their core audience just seems silly to me. It would be different if each new installment had 1 new character and a balance change here and there. There is some substantial work that goes into these improvements and they're there for the people who are the hardcore dedicated.

Relax, people. There is far faaaaar gross and devious things at play in this industry than Capcom reiterating and improving on a quality title.

1. Presumably has some EX meter cost, and/or longer startup frames. So you will have to use it skillfully.

2. Not sure if you're familiar with the systems in the game or not, but they added a second ultra move to every character in Super SFIV, so up until now you decided which of the ultras you wanted to bring into the match. Basically picking your loadout. One isn't necessarily better than the other.

I'm guessing you got confused by the two bars in the ultra meter. As far as I know they aren't adjusting that part of it, so you'll still need at least 50% of the full bar (one of the two bars) to be able to start the ultra, and then it scales damage with the more meter you have.

Buuuut yeah, should be interesting to see how that red focus works. I'm psyched for absorbing through somebody's ultra. Plus having access to both ultras just makes sense because all the inputs are different anyways, so there was never any overlap. Adds a lot more strategy this way now.

They talked about the fifth character at CapcomCup this weekend. The fifth character is indeed female, but they also said the character has never been used in a fighting game series before. So think of a Capcom character from another franchise. Maybe Kat from Breath of Fire 2. It wouldn't make sense, but it's possible.

Yes "people are still buying this shit." Aside from the additional content, the updates provide longevity to the competitive cycle. Players who seriously play the game, which is a lot, will find much worth in playing Ultra. For example, a player who might use a character who has a deficiency/deficiencies towards another character or the overall game might have an adjustment(s) to help them with the outcome of matches. In the competitive realm, these adjustments do show.

They should have mentioned the complete re-balance and 5th character in this trailer. Also I hope the new characters get trial modes, coz that always bugged me that Yun, Yang, E.Ryu and Oni don't have them, and everyone else's are based on their Super SFIV versions not AE.

I own vanilla and super, I'm probably going to buy arcade, arcade 2013 and this as soon as I start my new job. Owning this game 5 times is hilarious to me.

Elimination mode is awesome. I hope tournaments pick it up for team play.

I'm excited for this and i'm not even going to play it. I'm just excited to see if anyone on the FGC picks up the new characters and how the new systems are implemented during high-level matches.

I will wait for the Superduper Ultra edition.

I want to play this because I love Poison but I am so behind on Street Fighter that I'll probably have no fun getting my ass kicked as I struggle to understand anything

@dilbyo: Red Focus requires two meters to use, so you can't just spam it. And when you use Ultra Combo Double, the maximum damage you can do is 60% of the max damage you would do if you chose one Ultra by itself. So it becomes a decision of whether having options or damage is more important to you.

If by sucking this one dry you mean, continuously expanding and improving the game to keep it fresh and interesting for its dedicated fanbase then sure.
