Is that stuff running in engine? Hard to believe that an iPhone could put out graphics that good.

Wow this looks really (Graphically) impressive for an Iphone, and it's good to see they've at least tried to implement an intuitive control scheme for the touch screen (rather than making a game with a tacked on D-pad and buttons which are just so much fun). Also watching this makes the pain worse when Peggle Nights has trouble running on my generation 1 Ipod Touch

I have serious doubts that this is in-game footage, or in-engine for that matter. Still, could be interesting.

Damn man, that sucks. Is there a chance you could license their engine? ;)

It is. If you know anyone with an iPhone 4 try out Epic Citadel (the Unreal 3 Tech Demo and precursor to this game); it's pretty mindblowing how good it looks.

This is for the iPhone. "
OK then two min battery life. No matter what phone it's for, the phones' battery will die with the quickness. "
Modern electronic devices can last for hours. Portable gaming has actually been around for a while now. At worst the DSi has a life of 9 hours while the iPhone 4 is 6 hours, and that's only assuming you're going out of your way to make the battery not last. Mobile games are usually inherently shorter and with the nature of the devices they're typically charged well within the time the battery is up. Phones have the battery advantage of having much more easily available methods of charging as opposed to dedicated portable gaming devices which are mainly ac adapters. "
I can kill my iPhone battery in like two hours if I don't watch myself.

@natetodamax: If you have a 2nd gen, don't count on it. But if you have 3rd or 4th gen iPod Touch it should work fine.

I can kill my iPod Touch in around the same time, plus or minus 30 minutes.

Mixed feelings here, I LOVED shadow complex and would have been super excited to see a sequel. I also kinda feel that chair's so good they should be developing games i can play on my big screen tv, but then again, maybe this game will be a perfect fit for the ios form factor. I for one am excited to play it

i just don't get why some peripheral company can't make a game pad case that the ipod/iphone snaps into. seriously just a simple case like this -->  (+[       ]::). Bam. Buttons interface with the ipod though the sync port on the bottom.

@Cypher: Well, Unreal Engine has been around for computers and consoles for well over 10 years, but on handhelds? This is new and risky grounds. Epic and Chair picked the perfect concept for this game, showing off what's possible for future iOS games. The PSP is in trouble. BIG trouble.

Sony and Nintendo are going to have a hell of a time. Smart move by Sony to bed with Google though.

It really does look this good and plays great too. Download the free Epic Citadel for the iPhone 4 if you don't believe it.  It also doesn't use the conventional (bad) control scheme that every other crammed on action game has used on iPhone. It uses an all new, very intuitive, very smart interface that WORKS.

Also, the guy in that youtube rant is clueless. We know, Street Fighter on iPhone is dumb. Other developers do "get it" though and have given us fantastic mobile gaming experiences like Cut the Rope, Trainyard, and Zen Bound 2 - games which would be either impossible or awful on non-touch devices. And as others have mentioned, I'm not pulling out a PSP when I'm sitting outside a restaurant waiting for my name to be called, and I almost feel bad for those of you that do unless you're under the age of about 12.

And I feel bad for those of you who pull out iPhones and feel bad for those who pull out PSPs and think to themselves, "I'm a grown up, that's why I play iPhone games now, unlike those immature PSP playing lesser-than-mes".

...but hey, I guess the important thing is that we're both judging others, right?

ummm...the game looks pretty cool, but you just cycle through the same game over and over and over leveling up...not really worth $6 if you ask me
