Here's What PlanetSide 2 Showed at E3

This looks good, thoroughly looking forward to this game, loved playing the original but was unable to pay to play back then, and now this is bigger, better AND free...er.

They are thoroughly camouflaged, so long as they are among zebras. Or like, sleeping on zebra-print couches.

I'm super excited about this. I was a huge fan of the original Planetside and I'm hoping this game brings modernization to the only game of its type.

I haven't been excited for a game this much since Half-Life 2. Game looks absolutely amazing. Also, SOE is giving all vets of the original Planetside 30 days of gametime to get back into the original for some community driven "send-off" even on July 1st. Should be fun to see.

I am SO freakin' stoked! When this game is full tilt, it is some of the most fun you can have with 100+ people. 

Ive been needing some Planetside goodness for the last few years

I got to give it up to the narrator here, he spits some solid game.

The actual game looks very robust as well, i got to keep an eye on this.

Really looking forward to it, looks amazing. I've been sold on the game since watching the E3 stream from the show floor TotalBiscuit did with SoE.

Hopefully there will be better balance between the faction weapons and vehicles.

The game sounds fun, but those characters and vehicles are the bad kind of sci-fi design. Not exactly pretty.

Beta key hierarchy as I understand it from reading their releases on planetside-universe (Which is the place to go for PS news) is like this:

PS1 Vet/Paid (How they will determine this is not yet nailed down.)

PC Gamer/Twitter

General Applicant

TR/NC Scum who need to die in laser induced brutality (okay not this one but the rest is legit)

If you want to check veteran status, go to your station account right now. 30 days free, amigo. A wild guess would be that if you got time here, chances are you're in first wave beta. PlanetSide day is July 1st. Get rollin' or preferably hoverin'!

No, but unless you pirate a game you're still paying to play the damn game. Hence...moronic. You're still going to be able to get (at least most of) the stuff in the game without paying, it's just going to take longer. Micro transactions allow those of us with less time and more money to keep up with the hard core players.

Heck, if you like the other team's weapons better you can buy those even, I hear.

I give them credit for not using the term "guild". There are a thousand words to describe an association of players and MMO's have been stuck on the lamest-sounding one. "Ooh, I play MMO's and am in a guild! Maybe someday, my testicles will descend from my abdominal cavity!"

@SmilingPig: Gotta love people making assumptions without actually knowing anything. at no point they said you can pay to get upgrades and become powerful, and i in fact know that they will only sell exp boosters and purely cosmetic stuff, so please do your research before spreading false rumors.

When will you guys do a piece on this game? I feel like you haven't even mentioned it before now.

I truly don't think there is another game in the world that I want so badly to be out already. I just want to play this game and be part of the epicness that is their intense fire-fights.

I'll believe the player cap of 1000 when I see it, but even if it's just 150vs150vs150 like the last game, it'll be amazing. That said, these guys couldn't make a good trailer even if there lives were at stake.
