Hey! Somebody Spilled Dynasty Warriors All Over My Legend of Zelda!

This is the most interest I've had in a Zelda game since Majora's Mask (which admitedly still isn't very much, but still).

I am okay with this. I mean people want to see new and different things with Nintendo franchises, so why not? This might not be to everyone's taste, but at least it's something different and it shows Nintendo is at least branching out with some of the franchises we complain are always the same.

PS: I'll totally get a WiiU and this if Lu Bu is in it.

The comments here are so baffling, the game itself makes sense.

Whether this succeeds or not, this is the sort of thing Nintendo needs to do. They need to keep their brands out there and they need good partnerships with other devs and pubs to get enough titles out there

Now if only they could get Sega to do another F-zero game......

This has been the weirdest Nintendo Direct... in a while.

And to all who are flipping out, maybe let's remember that this is the franchise that was licensed to CD-i, back when we considered that a step up from that Mario geography edutaiment game. So yeah.

Fuck the haters man. This game looks pretty rad. In the proper zelda games link fights 4-5 enemies at at time max. Being able to see link essentially tap into the true potential of the master sword and just beat the ever loving shit out of armies of baddies seems like a great idea. Everyone always whines about nintendo re-hashing their franchises out in the same way. Well, you've got a different concept for a beloved franchise and now everyone is shitting on it? You people can't be appeased. Good lord.

They probably shouldn't shown this because, man, this game looks rough.

By rough I mean early. Should've given this one a few extra months in the oven before dropping a trailer.

Having just had a blast with One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 I'm all about this fucking game. I don't like Dynasty Warriors, but when you apply a franchise I love to it, it's a whole new ball game.

Do the enemies in Dynasty Warriors just stand around waiting to get hit, like in the trailer? That's not a very effective battle tactic.

I was also hoping that Like would pull a machine gun out of the chest at the end, and then put on some shades. Oh, well.

The game-y bits were an interesting exercise. It played fine. It was the story bits that were terrible and I don't blame Tecmo's Team Ninja for that. Also, I oppose using the word "reinvigorate" when the preceding Metroid game was Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Corruption seemed to have been well-received, glancing at reviews.

@saganomics: Id rather have an interesting failure than a game that plays it safe or by the numbers.

I'm more than ok now. I played a little bit of A Link Between Worlds, I'll just never watch this train wreck of a video again.

I like Dynasty Warriors and this is looks like a really well made fan-game. I wonder how they are going to spice up the variety though. Its not like the Zelda has an abundance of characters or weapons. I really hope Nintendo just lets Tecmo run loose and make shit up.

I like The Legend of Zelda series, but this looks like pureshit.

It might not "suck" but if you do the same thing enough times its going to be boring which is just as bad IMO.

Weird, I thought it started two decades ago on the CD-I. Guess what? The franchise survived. It will survive this too. It's one game.

If you can play as Zelda or Shiek, this is a day one purchase. If it is just Link, I've looked at that green ass enough. Dude has pink hair for goodness' sake.
