Edit: As many have already pointed out, it's a commonly used stock audio sample. I was thinking of 4:33 in Eminem's Stan.

I'm mostly kidding. Good atmosphere, but I would have preferred an actual demo, this seemed too showy.

Finally. A horror game that feels truly paranormal. Hopefully, they can match the video in real time.

The more concepts I see of it the more I think they should just make it a first person game...

This isn't a Silent Hills trailer, it's just a concept they used for the P.T. Demo tests. Nothing more, they haven't shown anything from Silent Hills yet, if it even exists, Kojima really doesn't know how to give a concise message.

Yeah, there's something very reminiscent of the Binding of Isaac about all this... which is only a good thing, mind you. I'm looking forward to what they actually produce, but at least we know that they've got the tone down right.

Looks like a great horror game. As a long-time fan of the Silent Hill series, however (it is my most favourite series of all time) it once again seems to have missed the point of what made Silent Hill feel so unique and interesting in the first place. You can sell me an IP, Konami, but that doesn't mean you know how to make it. Will probably skip this game.

I still have no clue what sort of game this will be.

For me, I feel that PT (and this concept trailer) captured what made Silent Hill 1 and 2 feel unique and amazing in the first place. That sense of uncertainty, feeling lost and helpless, and having multiple interpretations on what the heck was going on, primarily the confusion over if it was happening in the character's head and was resembling something that they did in the past.

SH3 onwards seemed to forget those things, and tried to make them similar to the first two games, which made them predictable and understandable in how they played out, and thus losing all the impact that made SH1&2 special.

PT/Silent Hills, from what they've shown, is bringing back the uncertainty and the surreal symbolic unknowns, and I love it.

The fans in the wall are a nice nod to the series' history.

So, yeah, not going near this game I don't think. Not because it looks bad mind you, it's just...uh...I'm a coward I guess and won't make it that far.

I know a few people mentioned it but does this trailer look very cut and paste to anyone else? It just seems like the parts are from vastly different areas of the game.

That's totally cool. I certainly don't begrudge people who are interested in PT. Silent Hill is one of my top 3 favourite series of all time, I regard it VERY highly, but I'm far from a fanboy on the subject. I think you've made some good points :)

For me, however, while SH1, 2 and 3 were convoluted, there was no uncertainty. They tell one very specific story that only has one meaning. I feel that people mistake the mystery of the story for more of a feeling of ''Who knows what's really happening!?'' approach. I feel like there is no mystery by the end though, you know exactly what's going on.

The other issue for me is mostly just presentation. PT looks like it has some incredibly great monsters and events, but they don't follow the design aesthetic or philosophy of previous SH monsters, specifically 1-3. This is why my overall opinion on PT is that it looks like a great horror game but it does not interest me as a SH game.

Imagine an extra book in the Harry Potter series that didn't base it's fiction around the idea of Wizards. That's how this feels to me.

To each their own, though. I do wish PT well as a game. I may still even one day buy it in a sale or something. I'm just not very excited about it at the moment :)

It looks like it's leaning more in a Silent Hill 4 direction if anything, which I think was co-opted from an already existing property (and which might explain why I don't get a very Silent Hill vibe from it). I lost touch with the franchise right about that time, so anything that emulates those latter games does nothing for me. I don't care about ghost, and the imagery in the trailer doesn't mesh with the aesthetics of the first three games. But I'm willing to give it a chance.

Pantaloons = thoroughly soiled. I can't wait.

I wouldn't expect this to feel like a traditional Silent Hill game considering the people behind it.

What I do expect is something freaky and genuinely disturbing, which is the feeling I got when I played the original Silent Hill on the Playstation back in 1999. It's looking like this will deliver that experience.

Looking forward to this and generally pleased there's been a bit of a resurgence in good horror titles lately. One of my favourite genres.

Looks great, but doesn't really look like Silent Hill. Then again, being a Silent Hill fan is basically akin to being a masochist for the past decade.

They should just keep the name P.T. At this point, it may have more brand enthusiasm then Silent Hill itself.

I don't know if this is a pure CG render or something made with the FOX engine. I saw some glitching on the basement door, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's a realtime render. Looks somewhat like the PT.
Now I really hope they do something in first-person. I'm hoping for a mix of 3rd and 1st person moments. Also; CANNOT WAIT :'(
