How to Play Keyboard in Rock Band 3

I'm very excited but worried I will suck at these like the drums.

Who else is gonna play this like a Keytar? 

Does anyone know if this will be more difficult than previous Rock Bands?

The more I see of Rock Band 3 Promode the more impressed I get. Dance Central and this may be the games that finally make me get a 360.

Rock band 4 keytar

I am excited about the keyboard, it seems like a pretty cool peripheral

i heard you could play the guitar parts with the keyboard. is this true?

I wanna see a compilation of all the BLLSL ads, all I've seen is 2x ryans 2x jeff's 1x brad 1x drew 1x snide 1x alex 1x greg kassavin, and I think that's it haven't seen any top men.

Dubrofsky can tickle my keys anytime.

Sheesh.. that "stage" is going to be fucking packed if you use everything. Looks cool though. 

Seems like it's worth putting up with the pain of starting with pro mode and working up from there.

Looking forward to this. But the one thing I couldn't help but notice during this video was how badly the calibration was for most of the playing. Strange.

First I was like "okay good an instrument I can use five fingers with to play each lane" then they go to 10 key range "oh fuck"

Can't wait to play pro-mode Keys!! Definitely want to play the regular keys style as well, just so I can play it Keytar style.

So, I already play piano really well, so will this be a breeze for me?

Where did the medium quality button go?

Too hard for my lack of music skills.

Arrr man, I really want to get this, but I'm not liking the track list...What should I do?

Please don't continue the practice of insisting any instrument that has finger keys such as piano/keyboard be referred as 'ivories'.  It cool and I understand where you are coming from, but backwards people actually have shit made out of ivory, and i'd rather have an elephant walking around shitting in the woods than some asshole playing chopsticks.

Can I play it mounted on  a wall as seen in the Journey - Separate Ways video?

Can I play classical music with this keyboard?

Excited for Rock Band once again.

This will probably be the first Rock Band I own.  Nice work.

Saw the keyboard and was like "meh". Heard 'The power of love' and was like "i can has game now?"

Am I the only person who thinks this looks hard as hell? I've got at least some musical experience in the real world (bassist by trade, but I've played drums and done vocals in various bands before as well as some minor, terrible rhythm guitar) and yet the keys look fucking terrifying. 
 
And as for the whole plastic vs real instrument argument, it's nonsensical. They're different animals. I like playing games and I like playing bass. I'm not going to confuse a tomato for a bottle of ketchup any time soon.

Kind of annoys me how easy mode actually sets you up for a fail. When they showed it., they showed lots of parts where you press two keys, and those keys were adjacent to eachother, that being for example a C and a D. If you press down two adjacent keys, for the most part, that will sound pretty horrible. Would make more sense if they just did like a two key chord with one note in between, like a C and an E. At least that sounds good on a real piano/synth, and it would be acceptable for easy mode. 
 
I was hoping for more with this version of rock band, to be honest. Especially when they are fronting that whole "it's for reals this time" attitude. At least pro mode seems to be more realistic.

Never was interested in the keyboard but I got my eye on that pro mode for drums and guitar.

Keyboard might be disappointing for me since I can actually play Piano at a decent level... but it looks so meh. It doesn't really match up to a real keyboard realistically at all since the keys are displayed rather than finger numbers or even notes. I wish they would have a pro mode that actually catered to people who can play piano.
