I'm not sure I need meme's explaining to me in a long form video form but will give it a try! I do really feel that this kind of show is not what subscribers were clamouring for and if I'm honest will it bring new subscribers? I dunno.

I’m interested. Reminds of of back when Whiskey Media had a bunch of sites for different content, but now it’s mashed into one site. Excited to see how this plays out.

@rentagosa:Rugby, Soccer and GridIron are all forms of football. Of the three, Rugby is the only one that are playing nice and actually calls their sport by it's proper name, while Soccer & GridIron are locked into the everlasting fight for the overall football name with both sides refusing to back down on the claim.

It makes me speculate whether some folk's resistance to some of the new shows is that back in those days, the content from across Whiskey that people did not want to consume was much easier to ignore because they were on a different URL. They could enjoy their video game walled garden here on GB and ignore the rest.

The Shield is incredible and I am always for more people seeing it. One of the greatest shows ever, and the greatest finale.

Tamoor is spot-on, 24 was fucking awesome (also The Shield and The Wire and Better Call Saul). And lol, I still own Jack Bauer's messenger bag.

@drdarkstryfe: Easily my favorite finale of all time, and while there are a few contenders for the #1 on my list, The Shield is easily top 5 best shows of all time.

Soccer is Oxford slang for Association Football, "asoccer" to differentiate it from Rugby Football or "rugger". The problem isn't calling it Soccer. The problem is that everyone just calls their version of the game with a ball that is played on foot "football". Yeah it's called football because it is played on foot, as opposed to on horseback, not because you kick the ball with your feet.

American football is properly known as "Gridiron Football" so in the tradition of Oxford slang I propose we start calling it "gridder" 🤷‍♀️

It's called HANDEGG!

I like "Gridiron" as an alternative name for American Football.
