This show is fine but out of all the new Giant Bomb shows, this one feels the least like Giant Bomb to me.

I have zero interest in memes or internet subculture, but nevertheless looking forward to the first episode. Just because the subject matter is boring doesn't mean the show has to be boring (I mean CGP Grey makes videos about tumbleweeds or some other crap nobody cares about, but talented folks can make the most mundane things seem utterly fascinating).

I'm looking forward to this show because I'm basically stuck on a mixture of GB, reddit, youtube and lichess online. I somehow unlearnt how to browse the internet properly, and I want you guys to show me around the weird dumb shit of the internet.

However, once Tamoor mentioned the "blue/yellow" dress I hope it's not the hot thing online this week. I want the weird new shit the internet has to offer like stuff from Something Awful from back in the day.

@goosemunch: Yeah memes for me at most make me breath out my nose a bit more, chuckle, rarely laugh. We look at them cause they're fast and distracting while doing a million other things.

I had almost this exact idea for a show or podcast with my very offline friend. I think this could be great. It's not very traditional GB but I won't hold that against it at all - I want to see new, cool stuff!

American Football is called "gan lan qiu" in my family's Mandarin dialect (maybe all of Mandarin?). This literally means "olive ball". I had no idea why it was called this until one day many years after I learned this phrase, I looked at an olive pit and thought to myself, "that kind of looks like a footb- OH SHIT!"

@gundato: Just tell those Brits that they invented the term.

The way I understand it is that they’re all called football not because the ball touches your feet but because you play it on your feet, sports for peasants as opposed to more upper class sports which were played on horses through history (not on your feet).

Tamoor and Bakalar... like cream cheese on a hot dog. They're two great things that, in theory, have no business cavorting with each other. But when you have a taste of the forbidden combo... you can't help but want more!!

(Seriously if you're weirded out by the idea of cream cheese on a hot dog check out Seattle-Style Hot Dogs it's delicious as fuck I swear)

I dunno about anyone else but the older I get the less I want to know the reasons for why any given thing is happening on the internet. The answer is too often just "people are idiots" or "people got tricked/lied to and spread it everywhere without thinking" with the specific details being typically uninteresting.

I'll still give it a shot. Hopefully it's not just a meme news show. If that's what it ends up being I'm sure the funny stuff will wind up in the GB highlights anyway.

I'm intrigued by this show and will definitely check it out. Lucy and Tamoor's contributions to this site have always been thoughtful and rich. (Tamoor's ruminations about challenge and letting go in the second episode of Borne to Run are bloody excellent.)

I also like that no one quite knows what this is going to be.
