It's Dark Souls! On the PC!

So good.....so good. Cant wait to play this again with a PC powering it. *crosses fingers for good port*

Edit: After looking at more recent news on the port it is not sounding good. God Damnit!

I would totally buy this a 2nd time if it didn't have GFWL built in. GFWL is seriously terrible enough to ruin a good game.

30 frames per second?

I can generally live with limited console ports - I have a gamepad and just really want to play some of these games on something less archaic than my 360, but locking it at 30 is really a bummer.

I don't know, Legends of Grimrock is the shit, and was only $14.77

I never really finished Dark Souls, but did that white winged horned red-eyed lion ever appear in the Xbox 360/PS3 version? I don't remember having seen it before.

Tell that to my 16+ hour save file from Batman Arkham City that got lost in the murky storm that is GFWL, never to be seen again.

One of two things will happen now that the internet has decided that an imperfect, possibly rushed port is inferior to no port at all -

@Scratch: This is going to be the first game I buy thrice.

I was going to buy this for sure, but after recent reports on the amount of effort that they are putting into the porting (locking 30fps, no graphic settings/enhancements, no real PC bells and whistles), I'm losing my interest and will for sure not preorder. I need to hear from other gamers first.

@AMonkey: it looks good, contains all "new content" and will probably be cheaper.

It will most likely keep the support for controllers as in the consoles versions. After a few patches (that every PC game gets lately) it has chances to be better than the consoles version.

Actually, I'm not sure what version will I buy. I've already decided to get Crysis, Skyrim and Saints Row III for the PC, instead of XBox360, this would be just one more to add to the list.

Waiting for the extra content to come out for PS3 too!

Games for Windows Live is fine, you guys.

I'm sure someone will find a work-around for the 30fps cap. Someone almost always does.

Hell yes ... repurchasing for PC and I know someone who will die for this (no pun intended)

Will this be released on Steam?

Locked 30 FPS is kind of a deal breaker for me so I hope that's not the case when the game is released. Also, my main issue with GFWL is how the saves are tied to your online profile (obviously it would depend on how games handle saves, more most GFWL games seem to being doing this), meaning if you reinstall your OS and forget to backup your live folder, you lose your profiles meaning all those saves are now useless.

Yeah? Get Gotham City Impostors, where over half the time the matchmaking system straight up does not work. You'll sit in a lobby for half an hour "searching" for players. Great fun.

I had alot of fun with dark souls and my NG's. I'll get this and pretty much just remake my guy to play the new bosses.

If it runs better; I'm looking at you Blighttown, I could see myself struggling through another playthrough after having finished the Xbox 360 version.

I'm not sure if I even like Dark Souls, I certainly don't like games being vague, getting lost or being punished by archaic game mechanics; still, I finished Dark Souls three times and would quite like to buy it and play it again. Maybe I'm a masochist?

@Cheesebob: Dawn of War 2's online was HORRIBLE for me. Straight-up unplayable. The experience seemed to vary to extremes.

This is cool but now I have to S-rank it again for the new content, it would be even better if Xbox got the new content as well.

so i guess, after doing some reading this will be a direct port of the 360 version. with no real additional work done to it.

30 fps? This is a joke, right? Also GfWL... this is usually a dealbreaker for me but I wanted to play this game. Even signed the petition back in the day.

Still not interested. There really isn't anything about this game that makes me want to play it.

I feel like the Gaping Dragon isn't the most suitable reference, considering it's by far one of, if not the, easiest boss battles in the game. :P In fact it's just plain easy by video-game standards, let alone Dark Souls.

Gaping Dragon is probably my favorite bossfight in the game, really fun to take on with some bros.
