Cool. Looks great. I  actually will probably pick this one up, unlike XII. Feel real bad for SNK; they blew a great opportunity with that last one. They really rode the success that Street Fighter IV was getting. People were excited for the return of the fighting game, and here's KOF XII bringing the 2D action while SFIV was going 3D. But KOF XII didn't blow up; people mostly slammed it for balance issues and a busted online experience (always a killer for a modern fighting game). It's not going to pick up any new fans now, but hopefully XIII will actually be fun and polished.

Also, Mai's back. XD

Cool art style. Too bad every post-MK9 fighting game is so underwhelming to me, probably because of, yo, MK9.

That's funny. Because I don't understand how MK9's stilted, overly canned, poorly transitioning animations can make ANY competitor's fighting game seem underwhelming. Just wait until you play a fighting game with, y'know, GOOD, RESPONSIVE animations. With free-form combat, where moves magically flow into each other regardless of whether or not the developers made a canned combo to accomodate them. Like literally every other fighting game franchise in the industry, be it Street Fighter, Dead or Alive, Soul Calibur, or even WWE All Stars.

"Dial-a-kombos" do not a good fighting game make. Which is a shame because MK9 has really great content and cool visuals. But it's all wasted on a sh*tty core game.

The  Dial-A-Combo system is only a small  part of the combos in the game.  MK9 is in fact MUCH more about the juggles than the dial a combo.   Some of which can require very specific timing  such at juggling off of the end of Cyrax's X-Ray attack.

I'm not going to lie: I'm more excited for this than I should be. I didn't pick up KoF XII because of bad netcode and a fairly puny roster, but once this comes around I will probably pick it up. Man those sprites look good!

If MK9 is your new standard for fighting games, I have absolutely nothing to say to you.

XII, I got burned. I enjoyed the art style and fighting systems, but the netcode was awful, the small roster and everything else was underwhelming. This game still, looks fucking gorgeous just as XII did. Bring it the fuck on, guys!

That juggle is incredibly easy to hit though, it's not that specific at all. I can't really take MK seriously because once you get past the 'cool' fatalities it's a very sterile and dull game. The animations and clunky feel of the game are horrible. There's a reason why the streams for it are so empty compared to MVC and Street Fighter.

This game looks pretty decent but I'm not really up for learning another fighter.

First off any  person who is into MK  isn't in  in it for the fatalites.   Secondly, just because the game "feels" clunky doesn't mean it is.   Obviously coming from  Street Fighter to  MK9 is going to feel much much different.   And as for the reason  the MK streams aren't as popular well...  DUH  theres been a competitive scene around Street Fighter since the Street Fighter II days.

MK9 is the first tournament viable  game of the series not to mention a lot of street fighter guys  have picked up on MK.

@Napalm: Sure it does.  If your coming over from something like MvC3 or Street fighter its bound to feel "clunky" for  awhile because  your not used to it because its a DIFFERENT kind of game.   Different=/=Clunky  but its easy to write it off as feeling clunky if you don't actually spend some damn time with it.

Secondly, fuck Diago he isn't the whole street fighter scene.
