So... I haven't played a Metal Gear game since MGS2. Can anyone explain why people are convinced this is another Metal Gear game?

Liquid and Ocelot had their right arm removed/lost/graphed though right? So the left arm and eye bandage thing are fan mind-F%€#$ surely?

I have not played many of the MG games but when this trailer was shown in the VGA's the hair alone made me guess it was Snake. Then the title a the end did not reference MG and I was like "wierd, oh well". Glad to see my inner gamer tingle feeling was correct.

Dude looks a helluva lot like Big Boss, lots of characters appearing that resemble characters from other MGS games, engine looks exactly like the Fox engine, which we saw in the MGS Ground Zeroes trailer and the little lines on the title match up just right with "Metal Gear Solid V"

It's looking pretty good, regardless of what it ends up being.

Looks amazing and looks current-gen, so maybe we don't have to wait half a decade for it. Maybe.

The only metal gear connection I see is the mullet. The fact that that whale and unicorn weren't robots is making me suspicious.

@InGameLife: Wrong arm sadly, plus the image of Big Boss in the caption of this video shows a scar under the right eye that's identical to the Ground Zeroes image of Big Boss.

Are they really working on two big budget MGS products at once? Konami really has become the Metal Gear studio, more or less.

Not a huge fan of them turning overtly violent and grotesque for Metal Gear games as they seem to be doing lately, but this still looks interesting.

Of course this is Metal Gear Solid. Why would they show a Reveal Trailer at the VGA for a game by a company no one's ever heard of? That's so fucking stupid they should fire whoever came up with this idea. Though most likely it was Kojima.

Also, there's been a theory going around that Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain might actually be chapter names in MGS5, which actually seems like it would make a whole lot of sense. And yes I do know that Kojima has been talking about stuff like there's gonna be seperate games, but I wouldn't put past him to just be fucking with everyone about it.

I'm not well versed in the MGS universe, but it baffles me that people are more interested in this being MGS-related, and seem to have totally ignored the inflamed airborne cetaceans.
