Modern Warfare 3 Expands Spec Ops Into New Survival Mode

Really 1887's again? Have they learned nothing? God they try to cover up their horrible mistakes by making everything look flashy and by adding MORE GAMES MODES!!!!

This game has become about multiplayer sadly, I wish people would not get fooled by Kotick's tricks.

Day one purchase

This looks way too much like MW2. And I have a sneaking suspicion that they won't solve any of the major plot conflicts from MW2 in the story mode.

I could not care less about how little innovation MW3 brings to the FPS genre. The hand-off between action and reward is precise and beautiful, so while Infinity Ward (or what is left of it) isn't moving games forward, they'll always be a day-one purchase. They aren't of the Jonathan Blow or That Game Company movement, but they know how to trigger endogenous morphine. That next-level guitar riff never fails to make me grin. Because it's important to games as a media? Because it just feels right. It's like candy. As you mature, you learn its proper place in the nutrition pyramid. But you never totally forsake that one childhood favorite... 
 
EDIT: And regarding the outrage about the exploding dogs... I suppose stabbing people is a perfectly normal activity? Really, people, priorities... Not to mention that the idea is so ridiculous that I can't help chuckling over it. I mean, explosive dogs? REALLY?!

Really? You could kill the dogs in W@W and BLOPS. Hell you can kill dogs in Fallout too.

Also have you seen this game, it's fucking nuts, and dogs with C4 attached to them is fucking nuts.

I cannot see the difference between this and MW2. I mean honestly is there a difference?

the sound design for this trailer feels like its apeing Battlefield 3's sound design.  interesting...

I don't know if it's just the video but the weapon sounds pretty bad when compared to BF3. It sounds like they are shooting BB gun.

This looks pretty cool. Seems like that hoard mode is what I will be playing for a long time.

Hopefully the PC version is competent unlike B.O on day one (I haven't played B.O on PC but I heard the port was a bit of a mess.)

It's not that it doesn't look good, it's just that it looks the same.

I really really like cod. And i've enjoyed black ops a huge amount. But this...i dunno. I dont wanna join the "wahh wahh lets hate cod" train, but i just dont want mw3 to be the same high powered explosion fest as mw2. When i watched that trailer, as cool as seeing a helicopter blowing a billion things up from the sky is. Much experience has taught me that when on the ground these things are nicht fun!

This looks almost exactly like MW2. Surprised they didn't give the UI a big overhaul just so it was slightly different

I would bitch about this looking exactly the same as Modern Warfare 2, but it's pointless. My friends are going to buy it, so I'm going to buy it in order to play with them, and then I'll enjoy it but say I think I've had enough after this installment... and thus the cycle begins anew.

Looks good, glad I skipped out on buying Black Ops so I can actually get excited about this.

More of the same. Looks like COD:BO and MW2. Meh. No more $15 map packs. No more console-centric design. No thanks.

It's insane how much this game looks EXACTLY like MW2.

Here's what I noticed- Redish/strawberry screens a lot, a knife kill that lunged 5+ feet, little to no kick on the guns and overall it looks like a clone of the previous games. But those are definitely not bad things when you consider the people who play this game.

Although it's nice to see them get a mode like this I guess. Looks more entertaining than Zombies.

Given the reasons why people say they hate it, they're pretty fair opinions. Just because someone dislikes a game doesn't mean they're trying to fit in/be cool. It could just be their honest opinion.

That's what the fans want when it comes to this game, more of the same every year. If they came out with a game that didn't have killstreaks/perks, but instead added different things that could change up the gameplay, and then talked about their new engine, the majority of their fans would start to lose interest.

Ho Hum. Looks like same ole same ole. Battlefield 3 for me, Skyrim in November. I'll pick up  MW3  when it hits the bargain bins...and look forward to what Respawn has in the works : )

Hm, I always end up being bored half way through a MW3 trailer, I'm not sure what that says about me or the game.
