Wow, a lot of these comments are pretty disgusting. Patrick is fine, the interview was great. As far as I'm aware Patrick is the only one here who studied journalism so maybe you should trust that he actually knows more about interviewing than you do. But fuck, the people of the internet can't stop themselves from hating someone, and I can't stop myself from hating them.

Are there really 800 comments bitching about Patrick? Good lord. Way to take an awesome feature and shit all over it for no reason, guys.

I really hope that Nolan North strolls into the GB office some more in the future, because this was simply delightful.

Seriously guys, just enjoy Nolan North's momentous appearance on Giant Bomb. Sure it could have been better but you can nitpick at anything. Patrick had an off day, give him some slack.

Apparently, Nolan North was saying some crazy shit so patrick calling him an asshole is just following on that. But let's give Patrick some slack. He is just trying to deal with being star struck. If Nolan North came into my studio or place of work, I would be on my knees licking his balls right now.

Nolan North is hillarious. So awesome interview. Poor Ryan looked so nervous at the start.

Just listened to the bombcast, I was in the wrong here. Apparently Nolan was a cool guy, and didn't mind the roughhousing. So y'all should chill the eff out.

I honestly think people defending Patricks are just not aware of normal social graces. I don't want to act high and mighty, but watch the last three minutes of this interview and tell me Patrick was being professional. I don't think you should talk to anybody like that who you don't have a long standing personal relationship with.

The promise of this site was great, the early years were too, but now I feel like 50% of the comments are people defending or angry at Patrick and 25% of the news stories (and blog posts disguised as news, ugh) aren't treated with the required due diligence. I'm not looking for the New York Times of video games in tone and content, but a little better than what we're getting (and paying for!) would be nice.

More Jeff on Quick Looks, more Brad dying in games (serious!), more Ryan writing reviews (the man knows words) and more Vinny everywhere. Put Alex on news, at least his cynical nature will keep it accurate.

Absolutly unprofessional!! This interview would've been 100% with just Ryan Davis and Nolan North. But once again, Giant Bomb have ruined which could of been one of the best interviews.

I feel like the only time anything actually awkward happened was Patrick calling Nolan an asshole, and that wasn't even bad, it was clear he was just joking and Nolan took it fine. Ryan interrupted Nolan a lot more, but it always seemed to be for the goal of moving the conversation along.

Loved the interview, I haven't played any Uncharted games but I'm tempted to get this book, it sounds really interesting.

Pretty harsh, folks. For myself, I didn't like the comment either but it came across as a little awkward rather than the end of all things GB. I'm really enjoying the Endurance Run, I like Patrick's news stories (there's a whole wealth of stuff on there GB never had before - and complaining because the site has MORE content is utterly bizarre) and I don't mind him at all on he Bombcast. We still get plenty of suggestive Jeff and crazy Vinny.

For those of us who have been with this site since the beginning there's always going to be a little sense of 'I miss just the core 4' but that was before Alex, Rorie, Will, Dave and other WM faces were involved too. Things have kept moving and that's how it stays vibrant. Guess what? Two years ago I HATED that Brad and Ryan forced Uncharted 2 into Game of the Year when Jeff and Vinny clearly wanted Arkham to win. And I really like Ryan and Brad. Sometimes people are human beings and we disagree with them. End of.

Patrick's a smart guy but they should really consider tying him down when new people are in the room. What a spaz.

I'll admit, I was put off by Patrick calling Nolan North an asshole, but I didn't comment because I don't know the whole story and social situation. After listening to the Bombcast, I'm glad I didn't because after what they said, all of the behavior makes sense. I love this site, and all the members who participate. I do not do so blindly, but I respect and appreciate the work that all the members do. I don't know everything that happens in the office, and that is why I reserved judgement, and I'm glad I did. Congratulations having Nolan North in the office, and I respect the fact that you all took some risks with your interactions with that potty mouth.

I dont get what you guys are complaining about.  I didnt think the last part was that bad and I really liked this interview.  

Man these comments are brutal, so much so that I had to comment. Great interview, it was a lot of fun to watch - including Patrick's "immature" friendly jab near the end. To those that got so heated over it, chill out and stop trying to make everything someone says into a nuclear event.

I agree. I too thought Patrick was absolutly unprofessional and I dont even have a journalism degree lol.

Agreed, even early on in the interview Ryan starts flipping through the book and then Nolan kinda had no one to talk to but Patrick. He went little over the line towards the end but all in all a pretty solid interview.

Great interview, Nolan N... sorry.. Mister North had a great personality and it's not surprising to see him as successful as he is now. Having that said, his comment about that 5/10 review score stuck out at me, but not as much as Patrick calling him an asshole followed by a handshake where NN referred to Pat as cold. Maybe Pat just got carried away by North's affable nature and I'm sure in the end all was well, but that wasn't even funny... Maybe if Pat had a witty, well though-out line around calling North an asshole where everyone could appreciate the humour then it would have been less awkward. As it stands right now, to me it looked like an attempt to convey the idea of "This is how cool this guy is, he's like my buddy, I call him an asshole, and he rips on me for being a stone cold prick, we're bff's, this guy and I!!" and fell short on all ends. Great interview overall though, if I was in their position I would be happy to be able to even control my voice's volume and the ability to speak properly without slurring over my words. ...god damn I just saw GB interview Nolan North... still processing that in my head

So I noted all the Patrick hate before watching the interview...

Watched the interview, and nope, everything's just fine. Just the internet getting worked up over absolutely nothing. Again.

OK. I just finished watching this and now I understand why people don't like this Patrick cling-on to the rest of the core GB team: He's a third wheel. Completely superfluous and unnecessary. He provided ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to this interview except acting like an ass.

Calling Nolan North an asshole made me cringe. I don't care what the mood was like, there is a modicum of "PROFESSIONALISM" that underlies everything. Don't believe me? OK, can you picture any other staff (Brad, Vinny, Alex, Jeff) acting the same way this Patrick did during this interview and then calling the guest an asshole? I can't either.

Patrick has no professionalism. His behavior and "goofy" antics are nothing less than a 2-year-old screaming "Mommy, mommy! Look at me! Look at what I can do!"

Ugh...I'm sorry. I tried giving this dude a chance but after seeing this I am completely disgusted that this guy works here.

Awesome interview. Some really serious stuff without taking itself serious at all. The best kind. And Nolan North seems to encourage the kind of serious shenanigans I've come to love from GiantBomb.

So why isn't Nolan being considered for the live action Uncharted movie? Seems like he is the only choice and could definitely pull it off...

I didnt see what everyone was bitching about so much. The whole video was really good EXCEPT

When Patrick was asking a question and cut up Nolan about 3 times XD that was a little cringey

and then Patrick calling Nolan an asshole ........god damn that made my skin crawl.

He is an affable, popular voice actor who came to have a casual talk with a couple guys at a videogame website. That is all. Patrick's little jab at the end did strike me as a tad awkward, but did that even come close to "ruining" the interview? Far from it. The whole interview went about as well as it could have gone and I'm grateful for GB and Nolan North taking the time to do it.

@MonkfishEsq: Are you serious? What's your problem with Steve Blum? Have you ever met the guy? He damn near misses flights at conventions and other places to sign to stuff for fans as long as there are people in line he'll stay. He does tons of charity work and donates his voice to charity auctions and also supports his fellow voice actors and people breaking into the business.

I don't know what your gripe is besides him maybe having a limited voice capability compared to others such as Nolan North but if voice directors love him to death I dont see how your statement can be true.
